His life and career seem to have gone in the complete opposite direction of Ben Affleck.
I liked both Bourne movies, the first a lot more than the second. I wouldn't mind seeing a third one. How many Bourne novels are there?

I agree that Greengrass should not come back. He completely botched the fight sequence in the apartment with the other agent. You couldn't even tell who was doing what. I'm all for a little hand held work in film, but you should still be able to see what is happening.
Other than that, Damon's career plan pretty much matches Clint Eastwood's approach. Do a big studio blockbuster, then make a few smaller personal films.

It hardly matters much though because the movies have almost completely different stories than the books. The only thing that is the same is that they are all about someone that got amnesia.
In the books:

I'd actually like to see a third film.. I really like Damon's work as Bourne. I'm ok with Greengrass and understood the camera angles for the fight scene. Made it a bit more ecclectic. Fight scenes shouldn't be a polished work anyways. I'd also love to see Carnahan take a stab at directing this.

I've loved the first two, of course I can't wait for them to make Ultimatum.

That's good to know, because I also want him to reprise his Bourne at least one more time. I think he's perfect for it.
ps. Bringing back Julia Stiles wouldn't really hurt either.

Ben Affleck: You're like a child. What've I been telling you? You gotta do the safe picture. Then you can do the art picture. But then sometimes you gotta do the payback picture because your friend says you owe him.
Ben Affleck: And sometimes, you have to go back to the well.
Matt Damon: And sometimes, you do Reindeer Games.
Ben Affleck: See, that's just mean.

I read them before watching the first movie, and it came as no surprise that they would barely breach the subject of the books to make the movies.

Ben Affleck: Hey, uh, you think we could put both our names on there?
Matt Damon: What? You've done nothing but eat Breyers and smoke pot for the last six months.
Ben Affleck: Oh that's ridiculous! C'mon, I helped.
Matt Damon: Oh yeah? Okay, uh, write a line. Just, just right now, just pitch me a line. Right now.
Ben Affleck: Okay (farts). How about that?
Matt Damon: That wasn't a line. You just farted.
Ben Affleck: Is there anymore pot?

There were things I liked about both Liman's approach and Greengrass' approach to the movies. I don't see much chance in bringing back Liman though, given the rumors of his issues with the studio. Either way, Ultimatum is definitely one of my most-anticipated movies, even if its not ever in production yet.

Jason Bourne - No longer a trilogy? Possible franchise? Sources say YES.
Kinda vague but still interesting:
I'm up for it. I personally enjoyed the two Bourne movies more than the last couple Bond flicks. I say give Bond a run for his money. Bring it on.

Producer Frank Marshall doesn't see why the series can't continue, either. In an interview with MTV, Marshall said that the longevity of the Bourne franchise was "up to Matt [Damon]. Maybe to five [films] ... At some point, he's gotta find out who he is."
In the meantime, Ultimatum is scheduled to begin production in August. It will be released in theaters in 2007. So far, the series star Matt Damon and The Bourne Supremacy's Joan Allen have been signed up. The producers are presently looking for actors to play the film's two main villains.
At any rate, it appears that Damon's character will not discover his real identity in Ultimatum. But when he does, will it be the end of Bourne?

Yup, I'm a big fan of the simple action flick - I don't need huge set pieces or crazy gadgets and effects. Just a guy smacking the shit out of some other guys, occasionally getting into a car chase, throw in a dash of military and spy stuff and I'm in for the duration.
