Both are worth watching although both are also disappointing. The Illusionist for its coming from one hundred miles away obvious plot twist, The Prestige for its silly sci-fi turn.
I haven't yet but will probably pick up both on DVD but they could have been better.

With the Prestige you could see the twist coming a mile away and the whole thing with the supernatural really left me sour with the ending a bit. The movie didn't need that. It already had a solid base in what real magicians did in that era without bring that into it.

Had I not read the book I probably wouldn't have seen the twist in The Prestige, whereas I found The Illusionist eminently guessable.
Both a good watch but I'd give an "A" for The Prestige and a "B" for The Illusionist as, although it was nicely done, I'm not such a fan of "love conquers all".
