Independence Day

I know this is an old film, but i'm after finding some clips of the cut scenes just show I know i'm not going mad!

I'm sure in the cinema there was a clip where the alien has killed the scientists in Area 51 and the president ends up having his thoughts filled with what the aliens plan to do. It then shows clips of other life forms being destroyed and planets being taken over.....

In the film on DVD, he just states this and it doesn't show anything.

Why do they cut scenes out that have an impact on the movie?

I saw it when it first came out, and I don't remember that being in it.

I saw it at the pictures and remember it well, or so I thought. No wonder there's no mention of it online anywhere.

I also remember the lady who was married to Will Smith in the movie coming out of the tunnel and talking to the guy with glasses and other people she rescued about what happended. On the DVD, it just shows people in the back of the truck, and her rescuing the First Lady.

I must have been dreaming perhaps, but it's all stook in my head....

Sorry bud, I saw it in theaters too and I don't remember any scenes like you described when Bill Pullman sees the aliens thoughts.

Even the "extended cut" doesn't include such scenes.

Now if you could dig up that "cut scene" from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", i'm sure you'd make some people happy on this board.

That lady and Will Smith's character were never married in ID4. You must be thinking of the movie where he and Rosario Dawson were married, and she gave birth to several worm-like aliens, and they were running around playing Twister...

...I swear I remember seeing that!

They did get married in a quickie ceremony before Smith and Goldblum destroyed the alien race with their laptop. Because you couldn't remember that, I'm starting to doubt the rest of your post too.

I don't recall the scenes you mention but Independence Day was never one to stick in my mind.

Now I do recall seeing scenes in Batman (1989) theatrically that I haven't seen since.

I do remember that. I should have been more specific and stated that as of the scene he was talking about, they had not been married yet. Happy?

As for the rest of my post, I was obviously joking. I sincerely hope you realized that.

Neal -- I do recall the scenes you mention - I DID see them in some movie not ID4 that I recall but there was a movie somewhere (maybe Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode).

What you mention does sound familiar.

I know! My guess is that the cuts scenes were meant to be inserted back into the film but they disintegrated and turned to dust cause of their age.

That's the first thing I thought of when I read Neal's description of the scenes.

You're mad. I saw this film numerous times in the cinema. Those scenes were not in it.

In fact, Goldblum not only saw it at the movies several times, he also starred as one of the main characters.

That's a real scene, but it's not from ID4. It's from another movie/show.
