Saw this movie last night. It was pretty funny.
The lines badmouthing Star Trek (which there were a lot of them) were hilarious.

The movie turned out to be better than I expected. Lots of funny gags and great cameos. The dying friend plot wasn't nearly as maudlin as I was afraid it was going to be.
And the final line of the movie.
Kristen Bell is hot.

After sitting on my DVD shelf for a long time I finally pulled this out and popped it into the machine.
I was completely disappointed in this film. I'm a Star Trek and Star Wars fan and I just didn't find it funny at all. In fact I thought that the main Star Wars fans came across as being very mean spirited, especially toward the Star Trek fans.
Really the highlight for me was the cameos in the film. Shatner was the best for me. "I'm William Shatner. I can score anything."
I also found that the cancer subplot was like a 900lb anvil hovering over the movie. It just took away from the comedy of the film I thought.
I probably should have left it sit on the shelf instead.

For next times, there's always the concept of "renting" instead of buying a movie.
