I couldnt agree with you all any more. I thught Id be the only one to mention it. Its the scariest movie for me period. The alley scene, the little people, and that opera scene is very eery. Originally Posted by Mabuse

The parts of Requiem for a Dream that I have seen looked scary in that weird/awkward way too.

off topic-
Geezus. This movie keeps coming up in my life especially since The Fountian was released. I'm guessing someone wants me to watch it.

Dog Soldiers scared the shit out of me for such a low budget movie. Werewolves always get me for some reason. I've got to see The Descent...
Jacob's Ladder gives me a bad, bad feeling.
Herzog's 1979 "Nosferatu" is probably the most unsettling movie I've seen. I'm not sure scary's quite the right word for it...
The Shining, obviously.
The original version of "The Haunting" is masterful in the way creepy things happen on the edges of the frame...
Audition and Oldboy are both filled with awfulness, Audition being truly odious.

Personally I consider that a ghost story... it is essentially a haunted house in space sort of thing. I think on the commentary it was mentioned that was the effect they were going for.Originally Posted by Mr. Cinema

I would have to say Hostel. Nothing supernatural that I can remember. Imagining myself as one of the "victims", this would definately be the scariest movie I have ever seen. The scariest part it that the whole concept of the movie is horrifyingly possible.
