bold yes, but "ewwww" - I could see why MST3000 didn't try and dare to do a riff on this - sure there's some bad awkward acting, but the overall theme and that 'one' scene in particular - made me feel dirty.

Re: TCM Underground Movies

^Yup. I know exactly which scene you're talking about. That scene was chopped to bits on one of my "Cult movies" sets and I wasn't complaining one bit to see that uncut.

Sure enough, out of curiosity, I gave TCM's version a look last night and noticed that the A/V was in superb condition compared to the disc I have. From that point on, I knew that a "Complete" version they had was about to be unleashed

Was pissed. My guide (AT&T) had Black Caesar listed, instead I got Child Bride. Did I see the scene you guys are talking about? My recording ended at the wedding.

the transfer looked a tad too much DNR'd - but all in all looked really good.

as for the film, started out with a 'massacre' then sporadically got bogged down with some over the top hammy acting - but at a mere 79 minutes it moved quite briskly.

It's interesting that the film is listed at the beginning of the end credit crawl of the film as 'Like Father Like Son' but went out as both 'Massacre Mafia Style' and 'The Executioner'

Tremendous double feature this week. The Baby and Spider Baby. The Baby is one twisted little flick.

After an excellent past 2 months, Underground will take a breather for TCM's Oscar marathon.

I saw The Baby 25 years ago, and remember very little about it.

According to my DTV guide, Candy Snatchers is still a go for tomorrow. Will it be changed at the last second again?

Is Massacre... not out on DVD yet? I thought it had been released. Strange movie, that.

Re: TCM Underground Movies

Pretty good double feature tonight. Blue Sunshine and the truly bonkers Hausu. And not TCM Underground, but still very cool, Next Thursday 5-15, at 4pm, TCM will be showing Wise Blood and Night Of the Hunter, back to back.

Re: TCM Underground Movies

I heard that recently, when TCM showed The Way We Were cropped from 2.35 to 1.78, hopefully it was just an aberration and not a blemish on their excellent record.

New dbl-feature tonight

Haven't seen Visitor yet, but saw Tentacles on last year's horror challenge and liked it more than I thought I would.

TCM Underground, has been showing some good films in the last few weeks. Looking forward to An American Hippie in Israel. Tonight at 2am.

Re: TCM Underground Movies

^Thanks for the reminder! I really contemplated on giving that movie a blind-buy ever since it was released. So glad to finally get to have a look at it tonight.

Even though it's got it's own thread, MIAMI CONNECTION's appearance tonight is making TV history

Re: TCM Underground Movies

This did not get mention, but a few weeks ago TCM Underground had the first-ever American showing of Nothing Lasts Forever starring Zach Galligan. I just watched it today off my DVR. Real trip of a movie, even if it doesn't make a lot of sense. The way they used set designs to re-create a 1940s effect was nothing short of amazing.

Re: TCM Underground Movies

Visitor & Tentacles are on tonight. As Brainee perfectly said from the last October challenge:

I just watched The Visitor (1979) for the first time. It's like a cross between Star Wars, The Omen, 2001, The Birds, The Fury ... and The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh. Amazingly, I get the sense that everyone making this was completely serious.
Believe the man!
