Just the title will make me avoid this like a giant stinking, steaming turd on the sidewalk.

Seperated in 1988 only to come together during the Nakatomi Christmas party crisis (which really was more for John and the kids than it was for Holly), still together 2 years until the incident at Dulles and then seperated again by 1995. Not only is he seperated (and we don't know how long this has been), but he's apparently an alcoholic and was suspended from the force. Now, 12 years later, things change?

So we've got John McClane returning to the big screen next summer for the first time in 12 years. It will have been 19 years since the original Die Hard premiered in 1988.

The last action franchise to be brought out of mothballs was the Terminator series. Terminator 3 also arrived 12 years after the previous film, and 19 years after the original was released. Weird.

I think Die Hard 3 was actually Die Hard 4 and the real Die Hard 3 was The Last Boyscout.

I have a bad feeling, also, that this new Die Hard '4' will make Terminator 3 look like Godfather 2

(but i'll still catch it, of course.)

In relation to the Wife/Holly Storyline... I think it would be great fun (or sadisticness) if they used the alternate ending of Die Hard With a Vengence as the spring board for explaining away why no original characters (including his Ex-Wife(?)) are not in the movie.

Yes, that's the guy from the Mac commercials. He also starred in Jeepers Creepers, Dodgeball, and the new movie "Accepted". He was also a series regular on the NBC show "Ed".

I think the title is really funny, actually. But I don't even know who Len Wiseman is, and I really don't need them to pair McClane with some douchebag Short-Round sidekick.

The original "Die Hard" was great in large part because of the device of being confined in the single setting, and in part because Hans Gruber had a perfect plan, and McClane totally fucked it up. You can't replicate the charm of the movie repeatedly, because it's too specific, and the McClane character is just a tough New Yorker drawn with really broad strokes. The movie worked because Willis was charismatic, the premise was neat and original, and McTiernan executed it flawlessly.

I still like Bruce Willis, but none of the other pieces are in place. Die Hard 4 is going to be like Lethal Weapon 4, only with that kid instead of Jet Li.

Watch Underworld and Underworld: Evolution to get an idea of how little I'm looking forward to this.

This has nothing to do with his directing ability, but he's married to Kate Beckinsale. Gotta give the guy props for nailing one of the hottest babes around.

Hey, I've got an idea, let's see who can come up with a WORSE title than LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

How 'bout these:

GET RICH OR DIE HARD TRYING

DIE HARD ANOTHER DAY

LIVE AND LET DIE HARD

TO DIE HARD FOR

TO LIVE AND DIE HARD IN L.A.

JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE HARD

THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE HARD

How about:
DIE HARD-ly worth the time and effort to hire someone to come up with a clever name which the studio thinks will help increase public interest in the movie, when in reality it will probably have little to no effect on the final box office gross-4

Jesus Christ that's a bad call for a director. I guess a guy like this probably doesn't get points on the gross, and the franchise is worthless without Willis. Looks like the studio plan is just to book Bruce, keep the other costs as low as possible, and wring whatever blood can still be sqeezed from the property.

I personally still think that good movies are good business. But the studios might know something I don't.

Underworld and Underworld Evolution, neither are perfect but these films have pretty good action and special effects for movies not costing a whole lot. Wiseman did a pretty good job with not a lot of money.

DIE HARD's story centers on an attack on the U.S.' computer infrastructure that begins to shut the country down on the Fourth of July.
Sounds to me like the release of Windows Vista!
