as I remember the original script for 'Day' was supposed to be much more elaborate and feature a small platoon of the undead.

I know I'm the who requested the zombie movie help...Zombies for Dummies is the title.

When I read the OP was just thinking it was time to update and bump that sucker cause I'm confused.

Wikipedia has the teaser poster up. Can anyone say Land of the Dead ripoff?

I remember reading the script with years ago, but I remember the army was teaching the undead to become soldiers (example: a more advanced Bub). However, when the studio cut the budget, the original script went with.

I enjoyed the re-make of Dawn, and thought Rhames did a pretty good job in it, so I'm certainly up for this re-make as well.

and yes, that poster is definately a Land of the Dead ripoff!

The Dawn Of The Dead Remake was crap and this will be too. There's way too many zombie movies coming out and way too many remakes as well. It must be so easy to be a "writer" in hollywood nowadays.

Are you sure you don't want to compare any more unrelated movies that I never mentioned to prove how wrong I am?

Bottom line, somebody remakes a movie and somebody remakes its sequel -the popular perception will be that the two new movies are related. If you are going to further confuse the issue by casting the same person as different leads in both movies, toss us fans-boys a bone and throw in something that even loosely ties them together.

So will Day '07 have zombies that run, or shuffle? :)

I don't care how bad they get there will NEVER, NEVER be too many zombie movies. In my opinion every movie ever filmed should be re-made, but with ZOMBIES.

It's all about the werewolves now. You'll see.

Hmmm, I'd be happier if it was the same writers/director who did the Dawn remake. But, what can you do?

I suspect it'll just be a rehash with more shoot'em-up action.

Word. Zombie movies are the only horror movies that scare me at all.

I guess you answered your own question...

Running or shuffling, I'll still watch it!

Buford T Pusser 07-23-06 12:57 AM

Interesting.

Cinemaddiction 07-23-06 02:07 AM

I like Ving Rhames, but his potential to match Pilato's woman hating, don't-give-a-fuck, asshole attitude is zero. He'd be playing the same character as in '04's "Dawn" remake afterall, in that regard.

Seantn 07-23-06 05:38 AM

It'll be interesting to see his take on it. Joe Pilato's performance is so theatrical and over the top that it makes it really memorable.

Chad 07-23-06 11:49 AM

Oh great, another big "Fuck You" to horror fans by remaking yet another classic.

IamLegend 07-23-06 12:28 PM

I love zombie movies and don't mind spending money to see them as sometimes they get it right and if the market is there... we will continue to get different takes on the genre...I don't know how many people watched the remake DOD extras on dvd..but I love the mock newscast covering the spread and crisis.

Seantn 08-26-06 02:44 PM

So, would you all still be interested in this if you found out that this movies "Bub" (now called Bud) is actually a....VEGETARIAN ZOMBIE? Read it and weep. Here's a rundown of the crappy plot. I'm no longer interested.

Not liking this latest report, sounds real bad. Doesn't even sound like Day really. It has the military aspect, a few names, and a smarter(?) zombie, that's it. They should have just given it its own name.

Still the plot sounds crappy, like made for Sci-Fi channel stuff.

What's the big deal? Frankly, It doesn't sound that bad. Also, "Vegetarian Zombie" is no worse than Romero's dumb ass "Evolved Zombies" in "Land of the Dead".
