Spider-Man 2 is the finest comic book movie made sofar. Anyone who doesn't think so is most certainly not a Spider-Man fan and doesn't understand what Sam Raimi brought to the screen.

Let's see what he brought us.
1: A miscasted Peter Parker.
2: A movie that doesn't even deal with Peter that much. All it does is make Peter out to be a whiney-emo idiot.
3: Two villains who had their orgins screwed up and not only that, but the first one had the worst outfit in the history of blockbuster films.
4: Organic webshooters. 'Nuff said.
5: Terrible writing and poor acting.
6: Two films that mirror the Donner Superman films so much it's not even funny.

Peter is no Bruce Wayne.

i enjoyed spiderman 1 and 2. but spiderman 2 is hard to watch for the simple reason everything is going wrong for peter parker. it's depressing to see so many bad things happen to the poor guy. By the way i did not like the trailer to spiderman three it almost looks like they are remaking superman 3 where supes fights himself.

I thought about that when the guy in the seat next to me said, "Hmm, evil spider-man" when the last shot with the reflection came onscreen.I liked the trailer.

The Spider-Man movies are no good? You guys are crazy. I loved Spider-Man and thought 2 was even better, just watched it the other night. Let me tell ya, when that 3 teaser played in front of Superman the crowd went nuts. I've never heard people make such a ruckus over a trailer before, and that includes the episode I trailer. I think the general consensus is that these are great movies. Maybe if you're big into the comic book then you'll be disatisfied with the films, but that's pretty much always gonna be the case. The movies on their own are excellent.

Different strokes, I s'pose...but I'm absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of respect for the Spider-man films. I love the humor (though some may see it as cheese), I love the drama (AFAIK, Peter's always been a drama queen), I love the casting across the board, and the action sequences are bar none best of the genre.
I think SM2 and Batman Begins are neck and neck as best superhero movie ever...and they both absolutely get better with repeat viewings.

Wow, you guys will find any movie to hate on. I'm not a big fan of the first Spider-Man movie, but the second movie was perfect. It's also one of the best reviewed movies of 2004 and I don't know anyone personally who doesn't like the movie. Fanboys...

There is just way too much Peter Parker in these movies for me. Even when he's Spider-Man, there's a pretty good chance he's got his mask off. Why even bother wearing a costume?

I love both Spider-Man movies and I rewatch them both regularly. I am probably in the minority in that I like the first one better than the second. I think origin stories are the best part of any superhero franchise.

There was only one thing I didn't like about Spiderman 2. I hated the whole thing about Peter deciding he doesn't want to be Spiderman anymore and wants to be a normal guy, so he mysteriously loses his powers. Then when he realizes it is his destiny to be Spiderman, his powers somehow reappear. That was really lame even for a comic book superhero who got his spider powers from being bitten by a radioactive spider.
When I was a kid, I wished every day that I would be a Toys-R-Us kid forever, but sadly, I eventually grew up. Wishful thinking doesn't work in reality.

With all due respect I can't help but feel you missed some key points in the storyline. His powers are tied him to who he his, to his destiny, to his lovelife, etc....

Well, since I rated SPIDER-MAN 2 as the best DVD release of 2004, I obviously disagree with the SPIDER-MAN haters out there.

I forgot to mention the idiocy of the New York citizens in these movies. From that retard kid that almost got crushed by the balloons and the annoying "go Spidey go" comments from the people in the second one, it just annoys me.

Loved both Spider-Man films - and I have never read a comic book.
