Why is it a bad idea? It's not like it's Citizen Kane II: Son of Rosebud.
Since the original is one of my favorite hunks of cheese, this one is definitely worth a rental.

Finally saw it. Not bad, typical low-budget stranger-in-small-town-kicks-local-badguy-ass with all the silly dialogue and huge gaps in credibility. Some decent fight scenes.
It just wasn't as much fun as the original. The first one had Ben Gazzara chewing up everything in sight, Terry f'n Funk, a grizzly Sam Elliott, Patrick Swayze as philosopher, it was b-movie goodness. The star of this one, Johnathan Schaech makes Swayze look like Sir John Gielgud.
Swayze was supposed to be in RH2, as the main character's father. It didn't work out, so Will Patton was used as the uncle instead.

I thought this movie was good cheesey fun. It was worth the cost just to see Jake Busey devour the scenery like a great white shark. He cracked me the hell up in this movie.

"take it outside"
My friend is presently working on it...
