saw it tonight to. anyone who likes it is probably gonna yell "jj abrams for the win." movie stared out solid then fell flat. definatly style over substance. it was entertaining and a fun way to kick off the summer but not worth they hype. story was lacking and i'm getting sick of the supid "face change" twist which has been used in every movie. nothing realistic if anyone was looking for it, though watching MI i doubt anyone did. the love life angle hindered the movie horribly. overall, 6/10 imo. don't rush but check it out at some point just to say you've watched it.

Saw it. Liked it. A summer action flick. No more, no less.
The reasoning reminded me of the current season of 24. Yes, I also thought of Alias. I also kept waiting for his team to be massacred (thought it would've happened for sure on the bridge from True Lies. Glad they survived from beginning to end. PSH was great, but not in it enough. Keri's eyes were freaky when...well, you know. The whole "mask" thing didn't really bother me...was too busy concentrating on Maggie and her red dress too much.
Oh, and did anyone hang around to hear Kanye's MI theme song?

I saw it yesterday afternoon - the beauty of living in Prague, where films are released on Thursdays. I liked it a lot...
Of course, living in Prague and being in a theatre with my Czech friend and many other Czechs, we could only but laugh when Tom Cruise hopelessly tried to speak Czech.
His Italian was only marginally better.
Good flick overall though. A worthy start to the summer season, IMO.

His complaint on M:I3 is simple: he's tired of the series... and genre.

Over the Hedge, X-Men III, The Da Vinci Code, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
Out of the four, best is Pirates, worst (by far) is Over the Hedge.

On another note, I saw a 10:00 pm showing of M:I III last night . . . amazing. I loved the first, enjoyed the second, but this one tops them both in my opinion. It was basically Alias on the big screen, with Tom Cruise filling in for Jennifer Garner. If you're a JJ Abrams fan, you'll love this movie. He makes the transition from TV to film quite nicely. The movie was action packed, had some great "team" sequences, and gave some character depth to Ethan Hunt. Top notch, JJ, top notch. The summer movie season has begun, and it's looking good.

Sorry have to disagree with whoever said it is tracking low...everywhere that talks about summer movies have it listed as one of the blockbusters...
To each is there own after X-Men 3 and SuperMan this is my next most wanted to see...
As for Boxoffice... next week will tell the tale.

Here's the latest snippet from Hollywood-elsewhere.com regarding Poseidon's tracking:
"Wednesday night's (5.206) tracking figures were released today, and the news is again not good for Poseidon, which opens 8 days from now: 77% general awareness, 30% definite interest and 3% first choice. I'm sorry to be the bearer (especially regarding a film I had a really good time with), but the 3% figure basically means it's as good as dead. Mission: Impossible III (opening tomorrow) has a 98% general awareness, 43% definite interest and 13% first choice. That's fairly good, but not stratospheric. The DaVinci Code (opening 5.19) has a 95% general awareness, 60% definite interest and 29% first choice. Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand (opening 5.24 to 5.26 worldwide) has a 77% general interest, 51% definite interest and 14% first choice."
I'm picking The DaVinci Code as my #1 box office earner because it appears to have much more awareness than anything else.

How do they do that tracking stuff? Just surveys? They didn't ask me...
I've known Poseidon wouldn't be a big winner for awhile... it'll be lucky to cross 100m.
