Movies You Love with Actors You Hate

Several movies exist that I truly love to watch, but they also have an actor/actress in a prominent role whom I really cannot stand. However, if a movie can hold my interest and still entertain me in spite of said actor's presence, then it truly must be one I love!

Christian Slater in True Romance-only rented it out of boredom; finished it looking at movies in a different way

Keanu Reeves in The Matrix-almost missed it entirely because of him

Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line-hate admit it, but she deserved her award

Ben Affleck in DareDevil-only for the Director's Cut though

Sylvester Stallone in the first Rocky

Bruce Willis in The Fifth Element

Kevin Costner in The Untouchables and JFK

Now for two that really annoy me, but still managed to star in several movies that are entertaining nonetheless: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise

None. There a very few actors I can't stand to watch and usually their movies suck too (Barbara Streisand, Warren Beatty)

How can anyone hate Christian Slater? He always plays the most likeable character in any movie, well used to anyway.

Finished looking at movies a different way because of True Romance? Alright....

Richard Gere in Days of Heaven I suppose fits here even though I don't particularly hate Gere.

I can't think of any actors that I hate...aside from some of the musician/film crossovers, and in those situations all I can think of are films like "From Justin to Kelly," not anything that I enjoyed.

Ashton Kutcher in Butterfly Effect

I've watched a number of Vince Vaughn movies recently and find he annoys the hell out of me, so I'll have to see what happens if he's ever in a really good one.

I detest Affleck, but I like all of the Kevin Smith movies he's in.

and The Rock and Gone in 60 Seconds, in spite of Nicolas Cage. Hearing "Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage" still makes my skin crawl.

you like Jersey Girl to spite Ben Affleck?! (sorry, i'm picking on your choice of words! ("despite" would be better than "in spite of") )

as for me, wouldn't necessarily say i "love" the movies, but i certainly like them:

both The Three Musketeers (guilty pleasure) and Scent of a Woman star my most-hated actor, Chris O'Donnell.
