Could you post what happened with spoiler tags? I stayed for a bit, but not until the end. I had a feeling something was going to happen though.

I hope so too. I haven't followed news on the movie close enough to know if they actually cut it down for the R rating, though, so there might not be anything else to add...

Same here... very disappointed, was planning on seeing it tonight but none of the 4 local theaters had it.

Well friggin' said!! I was going through this topic trying to decide if I would pre-order the DVD and having forgotten exactly how I felt about this movie. Your comment really hit the nail on the head! This movie had so much potential, potential only rarely met during it's run-time.

Maybe I'll give it a rent if they put out an extended edition, especially one with more of the mayor, but I doubt it.

Just caught this on Cinemax, nice horror film with a touch of comedy.

Definately worth a rental if anybody is interested. And not child friendly, tons of swearing not to mention the worms. Though my first grader woke up early and watched it alone yesterday morning - I'll keep an eye on him. And maybe put an earthworm on his chest and wake him up... (no, of course not, but I am not happy that he watched it when we had told him that he couldn't)

And for the person who was wondering what happened at the end of the credits:

Spoiler:
A human brain is lying on the floor. A cat walks up and starts licking it, and one of those worm things comes out. The screen goes blank and the cat howls like something just happened to it.

I hope child protective services doesn't find out.

Have to admit I was pretty meh about this film at first. That is until I discovered Firefly. :)

Fillion is the Man!

There is no extended edition. On James Gunn's site, he said that the Universal Marketing team tried to get him to create a fake director's cut so they could release it later on with the term "Director's Cut" slapped on it, but he said that the movie is his cut and that they had no trouble at all with the MPAA.
