I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the Rocky sequels. After watching a couple of them, I started thinking that maybe the original Rocky wasn't as good as I thought.

You are correct. This list is now offically invalid.

All these posts and no mention of Charlies Angels: Full Throttle?

The first was no masterpiece, but it was, at worst, inoffensive fluff. The second is an abomination to man.

Legally Blonde 2 should also rank much higher, for similar sins against humanity.

Not so sure about Matrix Reloaded, but more or less agree with the rest. EW tends not to do their lists based film quality and such as much as overall public opinion.

the list was pretty good. ocean's 12 sucked, batman and robin sucked. the matrix reloaded i liked, it was disapointment along with matrix revolutions but both were decent but disapointing compared to the matrix.
the movie missing imho is Return of the Jedi. I rewatched it this weekend on a trip and this is bad. Phantom menace was disappointing and dull in parts. but Return of the Jedi is bad and boring. ewoks are horrible but so is the whole movie, only the scenes on the death star with vader and empire and than Luke are any good.

It must have been terrible if you didn't even like it on LSD.

Yes, Cannonball Run 2 is horrible, but I'll take a line from Lewis Black and apply it to Smokey and the Bandit 3..

I thought Caddyshack and Friday the 13th 8 were pretty good movies.....

I do agree Ocean's Twelve is a horrible movie.

Even more amusing than that is that GFIII was nominated for Best Picture. Best freakin' Picture, people. Yeah, it's worse than Halloween H2O.

Put me in as well for Smokey and the Bandit 3: Smokey is the Bandit.

Worst thing is that I have probably seen it some 5 or 6 times. Paul Williams is a comic god in that movie.

Close runner-ups: Cannonball run 2 (though the original is pretty bad in its own right), Airplane 2 (the saddest thing is its incessant need to recycle jokes from the first film), Problem Child 2, Poltergeist 2, and the ever-popular, Arthur 2.

Also, gotta say it. The Sting 2 is in no way, shape or form in a league with the original. But I still found it enjoyable for what it was. Hardly worst sequel material.

Yeah I don't agree with EW's list. I liked Ocean's Twelve and there certainly more sequals out there that are far worse than Ocean's Twelve.

This list instantly meant nothing to me when I saw that one listed. So, by this list, do they mean that:

25: Matrix Reloaded
24: The Next Karate Kid
23: Porky's 2
22: Teen Wolf Too
21: Legally Blonde 2

are better films than Godfather III? It deserves to be on this list but MiB II doesn't?

While I'm on it, what exactly is the deal with people bashing Godfather III? Is it as good as the first two? No. Is it a perfectly fine, solid film? Yes, of course. It's not even just me saying that, which is my point. The film actually received very respectable reviews. Looking on RottenTomatoes, it has a 77% overall rating, and on IMDB it has a very solid 7.4 score. Not to mention, as stated before, it was nominated for a BEST PICTURE Oscar! Hell, it was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Film Editing, and Best Music, Original Song! It was also nominated for a number of the major Golden Globes as well.

I just don't get it. I never have, and never will. If there is ever a list of the films that have received the most undeserving bashing, Godfather III should be at the top of that list.

This is just one of those things having to do with film that drive me crazy.

Anyway, others that I thought could be on there were any of the Leprechaun sequels, but I don't think it was surprising that they sucked. 3 Men and a Little Lady should be there. It falls in the category of sequels to movies that didn't need sequels. Pet Semetary 2 is another. When making a movie about a book with no sequel, do not make a movie sequel. Children of the Corn sequels should be there. Dumb and Dumberer is both crap and a terrible fall from the first. Scary Movie 2 or 3 should definately be there. Home Alone 2 and 3. There is a lot of recycled crap out there.

I would. What it says about it in EW rings true... "Trade Federations and taxation routes? J We didnt wait 20 years for lectures on supply-side-economics."

it deserves to be in the top 5. I agree with you. Horrible movie.

ROTJ doesn't belong within 10 light years of a list like this, no matter how much you hate it.

It was no worse than Return of the King.

What no Halloween sequels?
No Grease 2?
I agree with a few, but some don't belong there and they missed quite a few obvious ones... Son of the Mask for example. Once again - proof that it is a waste of time to read EW.

If anyone's curious, they also listed the 10 best.

1) The Godfather Part II
2) The Empire Strikes Back
3) The Silence of the Lambs
4) Aliens
5) The Road Warrior
6) Before Sunset
7) Terminator 2: Judgment Day
8) Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan
9) For A Few Dollars More
10) Toy Story 2

Their reasoning for including Ocean's 12 was because of all the inside jokes, "painful" additions, and more or less serving up the same stuff and expecting people to be happy with it.

Okay, hate to be stupid but what are the "firsts" for The Silence of the Lambs and The Road Warrior?
