I can't find a pic, but my favorite single shot is when the monkey eats the bad date in Raiders of the Lost Ark and they show the monkey on the floor from above a ceiling fan. Awesome shot.

The Shining, though my favorite sequence is the Axe swinging scene but you can't capture that in one still image.

Rant over. Proceed.

Seriously, though...I think the OP could have been clearer on what he was expecting to see from people, if it really is that big an issue. The title does say "Post your favorite single shot". Well, (this) is my favorite single frame from (this movie), (this) is my favorite single frame from (this movie)...and so on. He should have said "Post your single favorite shot", and I think people might have been more inclined to just post one pic. Also, although the wording in his post may imply one picture, he doesn't specifically say that everyone is limited to one pic.

EDIT: If you think about it, you should realize what kind of obsessive people we're dealing with here. When was the last time a majority of the posters ever just contributed only one of something?

I was going to use the "dodge this" shot of Trinity from the Matrix, but it has already been posted. Here are two single shots that I like:
