Saw this new contender today at Something Awful:

Hard Target, I believe.

I do what Maxflier does. Isn't Hard Target a Van Damme flick? Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Seriously, it's Wilford Brimley riding a horse in front of an exploding building. That's art.

Yes, that is Hard Target. One of my favorite Van Damme flicks.

Click the screens for higher resolution versions:

The Descent (This scene still terrifies me)

Heat (This sequence is breath taking, with a great Moby song backing it)

The Man Who Wasn't There (Many beautiful shots in this film, it's hard to choose just one)

Six Feet Under (Two from the greatest ending to a TV series [or movie, for that matter] of all time)

You want more early 80's?

Doesn't anyone knock anymore? Classic scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High!

flicklover: I was going to suggest that someone posted that one earlier in the thread, I believe as their second favorite shot from that film. However, I see that you "Need to contact an admin about multiple accounts"....so perhaps you posted it earlier?
