I just watched this on DVD for the first time. Didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Cool looking, though. Not sure if I'd ever watch it again.

I agree. I was totally groaning about that.

Just finished watching this, thought it was pretty sweet...rented it because I got two recommendations for it from two different people yesterday. Thought the "Kill Bill" tag line on the cover was pretty lame, that's part of why I never picked it up earlier...that and Paul Walker.

Question: I've seen it before in Miike films, but I don't recall any US films with CG violence/gore...that was probably the first thing I noticed while watching it. Is it becoming a trend here in the US? No more KNB?

And as far as the pedo's were concerned,
Spoiler:
When I saw the shadow I figured it was Nosferatu, not Freddy Krueger...long fingers AND pointy ears.

blind bought this movie the other night. overall I really enjoyed it.

the pedophile couple subplot was very unnecessary, but I have to admit how terribly disturbing it was.

I enjoyed watching it, although I found it to be one of the most ridiculous films I've seen simply because around every corner there was some knd of danger lurking and pretty much every character in the film was willing to kill or aim a gun at someone, even in a public place.

My friend recommended it to me. I can't say it was as good as I was hoping simply because of the ridiculousness. I'm not the type to dwell on a little ridiculousness, but IMO it went into live action cartoon territory a bit. It kind of seemed like random scenes of violent situations were being written into the film. But overall it was entertaining and definitely different.

Paul Walker delivered a very impressive performance.

It you watch the closing credits, it explains, through a short cartoon, how the movie was a very, very, twisted fairy tale. I think if you watch it again, with that in mind, it makes the movie that much better.
