I balked at the five fart jokes, but knowing now that they're evenly spaced out, this changes everything!! I'm there!

It wasn't the greatest movie, but I laughed nonetheless, both at Jack Black's performance as Nacho, and his tag team partner, Esqueleto (his expressions and body language also provided some good laughs). It's got some good underlying intentions, and plenty of heart. Will it be a cult favorite like Napolean Dynamite, getting funnier with repeated viewings, not sure, but it entertained me on a superficial level.

I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

This movie was a riot for me!!!!

"Death by Elote"

Introductions of "El Chino", "El Muneco" and "Silenicio"

Snowflake in the ring

Encarnación Tribute Song

...were some of the film's great moments for me.

Black pretty much nailed the accent!!!

I saw this movie at work yesterday (working at Paramount has it's perks), and I have to say that I was pleased with it. I wasn't expecting too much especially since our studio has been putting out some shockingly bad movies the past few years but I really liked it. It was pretty much Napoleon Dynamite with a Lucha Libre Twist.

If you can go see it, see it, but don't cancel any appointments for it.

having read this thread before going to see this tonight with the family, i counted fart jokes, and there are only 3 in the entire film

nothing earth shattering, but funny throughout and well worth a matinee - and perfectly suitable for kids of all ages to boot!

I guess for me, fart jokes are so one-dimensional that using FIVE of them, regardless of how spread out they are, is excessive.

Saw it today and, while it wasn't great, it was decent. Really liked a lot of the cheesy songs in it.

I've been searching the web for info on the main song "I Am" or "I Am a Religious Man". Sitting through the credits said it was by "Mr. Loco" but I can't find it anywhere. It appears that there is no official soundtrack at this time. If anyone has a link with more info on this song, please post.

I also looked for this song and couldn't find anything. Anyone know who sings this? I guess the soundtrack situation was a big mess with Beck first involved and then Danny Elfman and apparently neither one (at least completely involved) when all was said and done and the film was released.

It was alright, but definitely not as good as Napoleon Dynamite.

I found out what the song's title is. It's called "Real Religious Man" and its an obscure song from a group out of Mexico City. A guy on another board posted info and such about it. I wish they would just release the whole damn soundtrack.

Haha sure thing I came here first before I had the song, so might as well give it to you all so it would be less of a hassel. As soon as I saw the movie, I wanted this song :0. As for me, it's been on iTunes with some play counts already.

I found it to be really average boarding on Dull, The trailers and previews were great but the movie itself wasnt that great. Theres not much of a story. Some funny moments but I never really laughed, I smiled but not laughed. Music was pretty crappy

C- not worth seeing in the theater but maybe worth a rental.

Thanks for posting the info on the song. I'd love to have a soundtrack for the Jack Black Song along with real religious man, but I'll settle for this for now. Thanks again.

I saw this the other night and really labored to get through the movie. I'm a die-hard black fan, and love napolean dynamite, but couldn't get into this at all. I didnt' find it funny, and didn't find it entertaining at all..

Very dull, and very uninteresting.

The girlfriend and I went to see this last night and were cracking up through the whole thing as was the rest of the audience. Very funny movie and a ton of funny scenes.

"Get that corn out of my face." This movie is damn funny. Plays alot like Almost Heroes. If you like that type of comedy then this movie is for you. I think it is hilarious and hope to see more movies like this in the future. "I don't know why you always have to be judging me because I only believe in science."..........."Felicidades". Now that's hilarious in my book.

Finally got around to viewing this movie yesterday. There were some funny moments. Jack Black's delivery was top notch. Some lines that I remember: "Don't you want a taste of the glory?" "Those guys were a couple of wussies, eh?" He said this after their first match and found it hilarious since they had just gotten their asses kicked. He used the word "blouse" a couple of times that made me chuckle. The Encarnacion song was good as well. But even though I got some enjoyment out of Nacho Libre, it was kind of dull overall. I'd grade it a C+.

The fat girl going thru that hole in the wall is probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

What's funny is that Esqueleto is identical to a guy that used to work at the store I'm at. Cracks me up every time.

He nailed a caricature of the accent. He sounded Italian or Eastern European half the time.

But every now and then it was hilarious...

"Get that corn out of my face!"

The other wrestler intros were very Wes-Andersony, I thought.
