I liked the toast part, and the one where he said "NACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", otherwise looks ok. I might netflix it or catch it on tv.

I couldn't stand Napoleon Dynamite, but this looks hilarious. The NACHOOOOOOOOOO cry and their training was great, and I trust Mike White to come through.

sorry, can't stand Jack Black (except for his performance in King Kong) and the trailer for this film is absolutely awful. The audience before MI3 was whisper quiet. Not a single guffaw.

I thought the trailer was funny. I like Jack Black (except for his King Kong performance) and I loved Napoleon Dynamite as well. The audience I was in for MI3 was hysterical with laughter.

I can't stop laughing at this trailer. To me, this looks like the funniest movie so far this year. (And I think Napoleon Dynamite is overrated).

He really nails the accent down in the trailer. I am in Houston so there is a very diverse demographic community here and the entire theater was laughing out loud. I look forward to it.

This one is a must see for me:

-I love Jack Black.
-I love Napoleon Dynamite.
-I love Lucha Libre
-I love the trailer.

Even if this one gets horrible reviews and everyone else hates it, I just don't see how I wont flat out love it.

An older lady down a few rows from me today during a M:I 3 screening exclaimed "That guy is the John Candy of this era..". Personally, I took that as an insult.

She should have said Curly Joe of this era after his performance in KING KONG.

I saw it at CineVegas last night. As a devoted fan to Napoleon Dynamite, I was going in expecting to enjoy this film. How could Jared Hess, Mike White, and Jack Black let me down? Seriously.

However, as I witnessed, Nacho Libre is a piece of shit and I was upset that I wasted 90 minutes of my life whereas I could've been at TAO getting smashed with Dennis Hopper.

Where Napoleon Dynamite worked as the plot was merely a string of jokes and sight gags, Nacho Libre has too much plot and not enough jokes. The downfall of that is, whenever a joke or a sight gag appears, it's never funny. The major problem with the comedy in the film is that it's not funny. Instead of going for the more absurdist or surreal humor from Hess' freshman effort, Hess and company head directly for bathroom humor. After the thirteenth person farts or rubs shit all over themselves, you're just wondering why someone could find this shit funny (no pun intended).

I liked Hess' first effort, but count me out for a third unless it's Napoleon Dynamite 2.

I'm going to have to disagree with Chimel for the most part. I thought it was quite enjoyable and funny. It was not as good as ND (not that I expected it to be), but that does not make it a piece of shit. I did enjoy the potty humor though (and really there isn't that much). The film was pretty absurd, much more so than ND, but maybe a little too much. I would say it is also more mean-spirited than ND. Also, The wrestling wasn't as funny as it could've been, but it had its moments.

Jack Black was great. If you love his facial expressions and singing, then this the film for you. A lot of the supporting cast is quite good as well. His sidekick Esqueleto was great. I especially enjoyed his girly scream.

I liked Nacho Libre. It was funny and entertaining. Perhaps it was because Napolean Dynamite was so incoherent it was nice that this wasn't. Funny movie, Jared Hess has a promising career ahead of him.

Well, I liked Napoleon and found Nacho amusing enough, but Hess's style, or complete lack thereof drives me crazy. I mean, it seems he can write stuff that is funny and adds weird absurd touches to a lot of things, but the complete lack of creativity with the camera drives me crazy. I thought the scenes that worked the best were when Black was allowed to be Black... they tried to restrain his 'Jack Blackness' in some scenes and it didn't work, but when he was allowed to riff and bring Jables out, I thought most of the stuff at least had a few laughs.

As an overall movie though, it does leave a lot to be desired. With the talent involved, it should have been THE comedy of the summer, instead of just an alright time waster... it's a sad state of affairs when The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift delivers more in overall entertainment than White and Black... I'll still see Hess' next film, but I hope he spices it up a bit.

I liked Napolean Dynamite and I liked this film as well. I didn't think it was as funny as Napolean, but I still had fun with it.

The audience I saw it with seemed to enjoy it as well, and I'm hearing mixed reviews for it on the web.

I've never seriously considered walking out of a movie before. Hated some, sure, but never have I gotten to the point where I was ready to just hop over to another movie. Just a terrible piece of junk. And this is coming from a Jack Black, Napoleon Dynamite, offbeat comedy fan.

Libre depends on appealing to the lowest common denominator. There's slapstick and lowbrow humor. Both can be funny when used properly. Neither really is here. I think I laughed two or three times and none of them came from the asinine sight gags and lowbrow scenarios. Jack Black farted; hilarious. Oh, a corn stalk stuck in a guy's eye; gold! Poo smeared across the face; classic! Ugh.

As disappointed as I was with the movie (which is saying something, because I had NO expectations for it going in), I was more rattled by the audience lapping this trash up. Call me high-handed if you must, but it's incredible what makes some people laugh.

Total waste of a night and had I actually paid for my ticket, I probably would've jumped to another theater.

The problem with the lowbrow humor is that it keeps on slapping you in the face in order to get a laugh. A fart joke may be funny the first or second time you pull it off, but not when you're pulling them off every other minute.

Now, I saw the world premiere of Artie Lange's Beer League tonight. A hard R film that consisted of nothing but dick jokes and racial slurs. However, it worked for being lowbrow. Why? Because it wasn't the same fucking joke each time. Lange and company actually took a different direction with how each joke was set-up. Some worked extremely well, others flopped; however, that'll happen in most (but not all) comedies.

Hess and his crew just hoped that the same old shit would be funny throughout Nacho's 90 minute time frame. The jokes get stale and unfunny within the 20 minute mark.

There were like 5 fart jokes, and one visual shit joke. I wouldn't call that every other minute. I thought they were spaced out quite nicely as well.

If the film overused anything it was absurd, exagerrated expressions.
