The movie Superman Returns was NOT nominated for a Razzie. Only Kate Bosworth's colorless performance as Lois Lane was. It's an acting nomination only, so the Razzies aren't bashing the overall movie itself.

I agree with Lady in the Water being on the list.

Just a horrible excuse for a film.

Recently the Razzies have used their nomnations to simply attack certain name actors, even if in decent movies. At least this year they generally stuck to the bad movies (Basic Instinct 2, Little Man, Bloodrayne, Wicker Man, etc....), with the exception of Lady in the Water (and I agree with bravesmg, had Shyamalan's name not be on it, they ould have ignored the movie). Also the nod for DaVinci code was a shameless attempt to get Ron Howard. But otherwise a decent list.

So true.

If Shyamalan's name were not on it, it wouldn't have gotten a release.

I don't think Kate Bosworth did anything wrong in Superman Returns. Lois was basically an over glorified cameo in that movie.

I'm more than a bit puzzled over why some people think she did a bad job. (Some critics praised her as Lois and cited great chemistry between her and Routh...see the reviews by Jeffrey Lyons, Allison Bailes...heck, even Howard Stern and Robin Givens talked enthusiastically about her.)

It's not like she delivered any of her lines stiffly (like Natalie Portman did in the STAR WARS films), or was unconvincing in her acting. She plays a hard-working single mother whose heart was broken by Superman. Her scenes with him on top of the Daily Planet building were every bit as good one might expect.

Why does The Razzie Awards even exist? If these movies are so terrible, they don't deserve any awards.

Anything having to do with Bloodrayne, please! There were two good parts to that movie and they are just above Kristanna Loken's ribs.

I agree. I think the real problem people have with her performance as Lois is not due to her performance at all but rather how the character was written. She wasn't the Lois everyone was expecting. Lois from Smallville is more akin to how everyone envisions her. That is because of both Erica Durance's performance and how the character is written in the show. I think Kate Bosworth was just fine in her portrayal of Lois in Superman Returns based on how her character was written for the film. They are two very different approaches to Lois and fans preffer the more traditional approach is all. I do as well but I liked the different take on the character for the film and I liked Bosworth's performance.

I'm really surprised The Da Vinci Code wasn't nominated for Worst Picture. It managed to be both unintentionally hilarious and excruciatingly boring at the same time. Quite a feat.

Hopefully movies like Shaggy Dog, Santa Clause3, and Deck the Halls are not trying to be the next Mary Poppins or It's a Wonderful Life. It seems these are just obvious crappers meant to give parents something to do with the kids during a school break. I agree most of these are not good movies but they don't try to be anything they're not. If you like Larry the Cable Guy you will enjoy the movie because it is basically him doing his standup act with a "plot". My kids are getting older but I'm thankful for any movie we can watch as a family even if the entertainment value is marginal.

That's why they did it. That's why they nominate certain movies and actors every year. To get publicity. Otherwise nobody except internet chat rooms would even give them the time of day.

Didn't Ron Howard get an oscar for Best Director? I'll admit that I didn't care much for the Da Vinci Code movie, but worst director? Gimme a break...
