Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

These are only possible nominations.

I hope Stallone doesn't make the final cut, but he's a Razzie favorite.

And I know it's supposed to be the anti-Oscars and only for fun, but I really hate stupid nominations like "Pacino and his hair" for worst couple.

I don't respect any award that doesn't nominate Heath Ledger.

So, how does one become a "voting member" for the Razzies?

I was invited to be a voting member a few years back for helping get the Razzie folks in contact with the owners of 1976's A*P*E. I guess it's by invitation.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

Even though those aren't the actual nominations, I agree with most of them. I didn't think that Speed Racer was that bad. I would replace it with one of these: Hell Ride, 10,000 BC, Diary of the Dead, Mamma Mia, or Gran Torino. The rest are pretty dead on, though.

Eh, it's got nothing to do with performance, it's trendy to bash Cruise.

No way that Rambo or Stallone should be on this list. Rambo was fantastic.

It's not a fake list. It's just not a finalized list, meaning, that they are toying around with putting any of this in to the actual nominees.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

The Razzies are a joke. Its just an opportunity to tear down celebrities. I'm sure the worst movies of 2008 were some obscure pieces of shit the studios just decided to release direct-to-video.

But if we're going to include only theatrically-released movies, The Punisher deserves to sweep the Razzies.

HA ha ha... love it. Agree with all of these nominations (except the inclusion of Indy and Speed Racer in that one category).

Funny... I feel Speed Racer deserved a lot more Razzie noms... Including worst directors althogh the competition was very strong this year.

Indy 4? It probably deserved a couple more as well, but at least I found some redeming value in that film.

I've been a fan of the Rambo series since I was a little boy. I went into that movie with very low expectations and still thought it sucked big time. The fact that it didn't earn any nods from the Razzies disappoints me because it was easily one of the worst movies of 2008. Just a soul-sapping, unfun, over-the-top, unentertaining piece of crap.

The "Love Guru," by comparison, which I actually thought had some redeeming points, was a good movie.

How in the world did Jon Avnet not get put in the worst director's list? This guy is responsible for BOTH 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

WORST PICTURE NOMINEES for 2008
The Happening - Yes, awful. Laughable.
In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale - Also terrible. Ray Liotta should've gotten a Best Supporting Razzie as well.
Meet The Spartans - Meh, same as any spoof.

WORST ACTOR NOMINEES
Larry the Cable Guy (WITLESS PROTECTION) - Movie was stupid, but if you're a fan of Larry, it's funny enough. And Yaphet Kotto reprised his FBI role from MIDNIGHT RUN although they cut out his name.
Al Pacino (88 MINUTES and RIGHTEOUS KILL) - 88 MINUTES was actually the best I've seen Pacino in years.
Mark Wahlberg (THE HAPPENING and MAX PAYNE) - The absolute worst performance of the year in THE CRAPPENING.

WORST ACTRESS NOMINEES
Jessica Alba (THE EYE and THE LOVE GURU) - She is indeed terrible.
Cameron Diaz (WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS ) - Aw, she wasn't bad in this.
Kate Hudson (FOOLS’ GOLD and MY BEST FRIEND’S GIRL) - She's nominated for FOOL'S GOLD and not Matthew McConawhatever?

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR NOMINEES
Burt Reynolds (DEAL and IN THE NAME OF THE KING: A DUNGEON SIEGE TALE) - So much for the BOOGIE NIGHTS momentum.

WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS NOMINEES
Jenny McCarthy (WITLESS PROTECTION) - Over the top, but isn't she always?
Leelee Sobieski (88 MINUTES and IN THE NAME OF THE KING) - Was she ever any good?

WORST SCREEN COUPLE NOMINEES
Cameron Diaz & Ashton Kutcher (WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS) - I liked it. A decent romantic comedy.
Larry the Cable Guy & Jenny McCarthy (WITLESS PROTECTION) - Well, sure.

Nothing for Stallone!!
