Johnny Boy 01-25-06 12:04 AM

That sucks. R.I.P.

Buford T Pusser 01-25-06 12:07 AM

Sorry to hear that. :(

No one suspects suicide?

RagingBull80 01-25-06 12:10 AM

Bye, Bye Chris...You will be missed...

Plastic 01-25-06 12:16 AM

I have nothing to base such suspicions on. But obviously it wasn't a murder so it's either an OD, suicide, or one of the 200,000 bathroom-related injuries that occur in the US every year.

In any case... I'm sure we'll hear the cause in the coming days. Peace be with the family in this difficult time. :(

I knew I knew him from something: Will and Grace!

RIP

The CNN photo with the obit article was from 2003 and yeah, he was pretty huge. It doesn't happen a lot but people do drop dead from heart attacks in their early 40's. He was a very watchable actor.

At Close Range, Pale Rider, Reservoir Dogs, True Romance...his characters always stick with you.

:toast: to a great actor taken too soon.

Mountain Biker 01-25-06 01:50 AM

Sad news indeed. Favorite roles "Tom "it's casual" Drake" in The Wild Life" and "Willard" in Footloose. RIP, bro..

A toast to the late Chris Penn...

" It's Casual. " I'll always think of Chris when I hear that. :rip:

Reminds me of what happened with John Candy (though in Candy's case, he actually thought, based on family history, that he was going to die sooner than he did.)

Josh-da-man 01-25-06 03:25 AM

The hell...???

RIP Nice Guy Eddie :(

Also could've been a heart attack.

naughty jonny 01-25-06 03:31 AM

From all reports, there is nothing suspicious being reported (which would likely rule out drugs...or at least the more obvious ones).

Shame really. He seemed to be a genuinely nice bloke.

Chad 01-25-06 03:44 AM

Damn, that's a surprise.

RIP Nice Guy Eddie :(

eedoon 01-25-06 04:19 AM

I don't know his work that much, but I loved Mulholland Falls and part of it because of his performance.

I have yet playing San Andreas (he's one of the voice talent in the game), it's been sitting on my room for months. Probably I'll pick it up soon.

RIP

SuicycoDave 01-25-06 04:24 AM

Damn shame, he was a great actor... RIP

Giantrobo 01-25-06 04:33 AM

I thought he was hilarious in "To Wong Fu". :(

They've already updated IMDB, too.

Wow, that's such a surprise. Sad. I'm the same age and it seems really odd to think about going out so early by natural causes if that's the case.

Numanoid 01-25-06 07:29 AM

Too bad. I'm betting he pulled a Chris Farley.

movieguru 01-25-06 07:33 AM

Never heard of him before.
