I was let down by the opening sequence. It was cool, but there was no scope. Almost every shot was a close up of Anakin or Obi's ship. There weren't shots of other pilots or ships going down or taking out the enemy like the OT. This battle seemed very small.

Well I was blown away!

then play Rogue Leader...
I've played it, and it doesn't come within a million light years of looking like the space battle in ROTS. The comparison is utterly ridiculous.

Should have had them take down a capital ship, or have some closer calls in taken out the shields on Grievous's ship to get on board to make it more action packed and exciting. Instead of having all the real action going on in the periphery.

I've never really been able to understand this widespread hatred for Jedi, the Ewoks in particular. Sure, they're kiddy and a little stupid, but they certainly don't ruin the movie, imo.
So it's Jedi for me, although I really do enjoy Sith a lot, too.

When I was a kid I loved ROTJ, Ewoks never bothered me even once. So when the special editions got a theater run I watched all three in theaters, got through Star Wars and Empire loving every minute. So then Jedi comes out and I go to see that..... I literally fell asleep. I can't sit down and actually watch that movie as a whole anymore, I just skip to the final scene with Luke and Vader fighting and call it a day. As someone mentioned earlier there are some pretty long boring parts in it.
Liked ROTS much better, tighter pacing and seeing the Empire really come into being was just amazing, Palpatine telling the senate he just murdered their former protectors and getting applause for it just clenched it for me. Even Anakin's seemingly quick turn to the darkside didn't phase me, it was obvious he made his choice earlier, it was just the final act of going through with it that was shown. My only real gripe with the movie is the opening space battle, I completely agree it was just a mess, I didn't feel any of the scope of the one in ROTJ, just saw a lot of big ships sitting around doing nothing.

Return of the Jedi.
We recently rewatched all the movies in this order 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1. I had forgotten how bad TPM was until we watched it again. Padme had a normal voice when she was Padme but a robotic voice when she was the queen.

JEDI
While a huge step down from the first two films, Return of the Jedi is still an excellent fantasy/adventure on it's own merits.
The last 20 minutes of Jedi, gave us a better feel for the tragedy of Vader's life, than the entire shitty prequel series multiplied by 10.

Then again I'd also argue that there's no way Jedi is a huge step down from the first two films. But that's another argument for another time, and one that won't change any opinions. I don't believe one opinion on this forum regarding Star Wars could be changed, no matter how long it was argued. Opinions are set in stone.

Tough, tough call. I have to go with Jedi as the Vader/Luke/Emperor scene is the litmus test for every epic movie I've ever watched. I know the dialogue by heart and I can even twist the corners of my mouth like the emperor.
Then again, I am now doing the same with the ROTS movie... Agh.
Ok, Jedi.
