Big  for snub of ROTS for Visual Effects
and another  for Judi Dench. We get it Hollywood, you really like her. |
According to MCN, there are 20 first timers in the Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress categories.
17 of them got 1 nomination this morning. Diana Ossana got 2 this morning, Picture and Adapted Screenplay. Grant Heslov got 2 as well, Picture and Original Screenplay. George Clooney grabbed 3 nominations, Director, Supporting Actor, and Original Screenplay. On the other hand, John Williams has now been nominated 45 times! :) |

Could we get a new thread going with the Nominations and not predictions? dealing with 10 pages of speculation seems like extra baggage.

I started this one. So I started a new one concerning predictions of winners and general discussion.
Since the nominations are announced, post all speculation regarding the Oscars in the thread I created. This thread has run its course. |
He got 4 this year (he produced Good Night and Good Luck) and tied the record for nominations in a year (with Orson Welles and Warren Beaty). |

"And Clooney scored a personal triumph with four nominations – for directing, producing and co-writing “Good Night, and Good Luck,” and as best supporting actor in “Syriana.” The only other four-time nominees in a single year were Orson Welles and Warren Beatty. They did it with just one picture, but perhaps it’s even more impressive to do it with two.' http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/...SCARS/60131001 |

He removed himself from the list of producers on the film. |
