I have some process worked out to get a template for the legos... it's not perfect with the colors yet... I have to work out the dithering...
but the sizing is good. I can't see any image coming out well unless it is a very large image... this one is Jessica Alba at 20"x30"

You can see it has little detail...
I uploaded miniturized version (not a scaled print version) so you can see how it looks from a distance.

Essentially printing it out at that size yeilds each pixel as a single block of lego. Only the basic lego colors are used (black, white, blue, yellow and green), but there are other lego colors to result in more detail (two shades of grey, orange and brown).

If anyone wants and image converted just let me know...

This is stupid. Who cares if its made out of Lego's. 200 dollars is not worth it. I'll never understand why people waste money on stupid crap like this.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, no?
"Stupid" to you, but not to everyone (at least not the high bidder)

$200 is quite ridiculous for something that can be made with not too much difficulty.

Let's say it took this ebay seller only 10 seconds to choose and apply each of the more than 4,500 Lego blocks (maybe it took more or less time-- who knows, but he's not just sticking these things on without carefully determing where the need to go). That's about 12 and half hours worth of work, so for $200, he's making $16 an hour on this (and that's not including whatever the Lego blocks cost him, or the time it took to design it).

It really doesn't sound that unreasonable to me.

If you guys thought $200 was a ripoff, you'll love this--- the price has almost doubled.
