The bashing of Lucas is an old bit. Its gone on far too long as there is no connection of blame with Lucas other than than the bias against him. I really dont care for him one way or the other, but this isnt his fault.

Guys - chill. I'm as big a Star Wars fan as I am a Mad Max fan. I was just looking for an attention grabbing thread title. (Apparently I succeeded. )

I think it's just natural to blame everything that's wrong with modern Hollywood on GL.

Well it was also delayed due to the conflict in Iraq. So I could post this in the Other forum with the alternate thread title "Or Another Reason to Hate George Bush."

But seriously, I just wanted to see the series go out on a high note. Thunderdome started off great, then became a completely different movie at the halfway mark. And I don't mean that in a good way...

For what it's worth, I thought Thunderdome was pretty darn good, especially when compared to the tripe that's dished out today. The middle part with the kids was kind of dumb, but the first and last thirds of the movie were top notch IMO.

This stinks

I was really hoping to see another Mad Max movie, especially after we got a taste of what George Miller could still do in Babe 2: Pig in the City. I'm thinking it would've been a dark and beautiful masterpiece. Too bad.

Since Gibson seems more interested in The Passion than Mad Max now, I blame it all on God.

I blame it all on Mel Gibson himself for becoming a huge international star. If he had faded into obscurity after "The River" I doubt we would even be having his conversation.

Bad enough Lucas has to muck his own movies, now he's moving in on screwing up others as well.

Anyone who blames George Lucas for this has some serious mental issues that require intense therapy at a mental institution where they feed you pills once an hour.

All I remember about Thunderdome was the Tina Turner song:

"we don't need another heeeroooo... we don't need another waaaaaaay home... all we want is life beyoooooond, thunderdome"

If Mad Max 4 gets made, we'll see more British bashing. Cool.

Thanks to that evil man from Marin County booking the *entire* Australian continent to make his movie, we don't get to see mel Gibson hate the British in a Mad Max movie.

Dammit.

Whats the deal with MAD MAX 4?

Any chance in hell that it can still be made?

In the recent Primetime Live interview with Diane Sawyer regarding The Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson indicated that he would probably be giving up acting. Which pretty much means Mad Max 4 is not going to happen.

I think at this point we'll see Danny Trejo on the front cover of People's "Sexiest Man of the Year" before we see a Mad Max 4.

This all is so disapointing. This film was so close to being made. Granted, I don't believe Gibson is giving up acting. But this movie was SO close to being made, it pisses me off seeing it not exist. 104 million dollar Fury Road! Talk about a dream movie! Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. George Miller I know switched gears and is producing some animated film at the moment. But I shall continue to hope.

Maybe he meant only during Lent.
