Lions Gate only put $4 million on the line for the production for Saw II. Even after printing and marketing (which probably cost around $15-20 million), the film broke even and started making profit during it's opening weekend. Lions Gate hasn't made an "expensive" film yet (probably because they can't afford it), but they make films on the "cheap" (or acquire films from indepedent producers or import films from other countries) and make money off them either during their theatrical release, their video release, and/or both.

I predict they will use three fingers for the 'W' in the title.

How about three legs instead?

I just hope it will feature Gérard Depardieu's big comeback performance.

I didn't see Saw I or II but I know when I went to see "Prime" at a 10:15pm showing with me and 3 other people in our auditorium....SAW II was pretty much filled.

Saw III wouldn't shock me.

I guess if they wanted to use legs they could turn them so the feet connect at the bottom.

I saw an interview of the director of Saw II who I think also wrote Saw I. In the interview he refers to the producers of the movies as talking about protecting the "Saw franchise". So as many have already said I'm sure they will keep cranking them out as long as they make money.

I'm still thinking Saw 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear. Come on people, it works on multiple levels!

LOL That would be great; a musical\dance\horror movie where people breakdance-fight there way through a maze of mystery...in the hood.
