Exactly. Serenity had a built-in fan base and that's it.

Snakes on a Plane's fan base is constantly growing by each and every day. You don't need any prior knowledge to see this film, you just need to know that there's snakes on a motherfuckin' plane and Samuel L. Jackson is going to fight them, because he's a bad ass motherfucker. And it might just be internet geeks raving about this flick, but just wait until the general public gets ahold of this. Everybody will be going bonkers.

And studios release tons of shit each year. At least New Line is going to make this shit entertaining.

Agree with you on both points. The only thing stopping S.O.A.P. from becoming the best movie of the year is if they replaced Samuel L. Jackson with Dave Chapelle acting like Samuel L. Jackson. Then the universe would just implode from awesomeness.

This reeks of American Idol...where it's not enough that they market cookie-cutter garbage to you...rather, they go the extra step and market the FACT that they are marketing garbage to you.

The emperor has no mothafuckin clothes.

Pass.

Whatever.

The Chappelle idea...muthafuckin' genius!

He should have been in this one, playing Jackson's brother or something.
Think the fans could rally the studio to make that kind of change?

More great stuff here:

http://www.snakesonablog.com/swp/wp-...apAudition.wmv

It's an 'audition' video with someone doing great impersonations of Jack Nicholson, Joe Pesci, Christopher Walken and others - auditioning for this movie.

Someone needs to give this idea to New Line, STAT.

They've gotta save something for Snakes on a Train.

It's like Sam Jackson said...you either want to see this movie, or you don't.

Henceforth the genius of the title!

I think New Line should make all of their upcoming movies using only titles that spell out the plot. First off should be PIMP aka "Pigeons In My Pants".

That was great AD. Here is an audio piece from NPR with Samuel L. Jackson:

Here is a remix featuring all kinds of audio, including the Samuel L. Jackon quote:

My God I'm loving this SOAP "movement". Here is the latest post from snakesonablog:

A few days I posted about nootropic describing his calls to a few airlines to find out if he could bring Snakes on a Plane. I lamented at the time that he didn’t record his phone calls… I assumed they’d be funny. Well, it seems as though Philip had the same idea that I had. Here we go:

Southwest Airlines

American Airlines

Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines 2

Jet Blue
