This is no horror film.
It has elements of the supernatural, and the exorcism scenes pack a genre punch, but EMILY ROSE is more of a courtroom drama than anything else.
IMO, a good cast is wasted by a needlessly grabby young filmmaker who only relies on jump shocks to get scares. Take those away, and the film is nothing.
Don't expect much going in, and you might have a good time. And if you love THE EXORCIST, be prepared to be let down.
As for the PG-13, it doesn't matter. The film wasn't designed to be this ultimate horror fest.

Yeah, they just had to splice this one so the wee ones can get in. Because we all know how popular the exorcism movies are with children these days.

Just try to imagine the original Excorcist being PG-13.

The trailer is insanely creepy. What's with that cackle/laugh at the end? Yuck. I'm sure my wife will want to see this - and she'll drag my scared ass to the theatre...

I'll wait for the probable unrated DVD.
