Perhaps the studios would make more money if they continually came up with new and interesting concepts and ideas, rather than turning everything into a franchise and milk it until it no longer makes any money.

I thought the purpose of the nephew in #2 was to show us how Greg interacts with babies.

We've already seen that.

Considering this movie made far to much money then it should have: $280 million (!!!) and who knows how much more in DVD sales...I should have seen this coming a mile away.

They could generate a ton of pre-release publicity if they changed the name to Baby Focker.

I walked out of the second one. Pretty sad for a movie with such a talented cast. Unless its gets some fantastic reviews, I won't be seeing it.

Starring Michael Jackson (ouch)!

I'd probably see it if the cast was still worthy.

Meet the Fockers sucked. I can't believe what it did in the box office. How could people actually enjoy it. When it came out on DVD customers kept saying how great it was and I was in awe. I just wanted to tell them they were nuts and to watch something good for a change, but of course I didn't.

I can understand why they'd make another sequel, but I hope they don't. Maybe it won't be so bad any ways. It can't be any worse then Meet the Fockers, right?

Enjoyed both of them but thought Meet the Parents was a little more funny. I will probably wait for the DVD though.

I like Meet the Parents, but count me as one who hated Meet the Fockers. All of the jokes in it were either pale imitations of jokes from the 1st film, or were just seriously unfunny. And the scenes with the baby were the worst part of the movie - please, no more babies! Right now, I still like the 1st movie despite the awful 2nd one. But if they make any more with further diminishing returns, though, I may start to hate it too.

Yeah but it is Universal. The brilliant studio that thought hiring Ang Lee to direct a movie based on a beloved comic book hero whom he had never heard of was a good idea.

The company that prides itself on its famous horror icons including Frankenstein, Dracula, the Werewolf, and the Mummy decided it was a good idea to let Stephen Sommers run wild with their holy franchises, even after seeing The Mummy Returns.

And last but not least the same company that decided to make a movie based on a failed TV show.

I am in the camp that liked both but thought the 2nd one was better than the first. I also thought the same thing about Austin Powers (with the 2nd one being better than the first). Both sequels took the same jokes and made them better IMHO. Bring another one on.

Bring it on. I thought the second was much funnier than the first, and I enjoyed both. They deserve a shot at making a third.

I liked the first one, enjoyed the second one, and will probably watch the third one. I won't be going to the theater for it, just like I didn't for the second one.

It definately needs to end, though. I would be just as happy without a third, but it makes very little difference to me.

I caught the first one on TBS last night. Forgot how genuinely funny it is!

Never got around to the second one. But after seeing the first last night, I'll probably just buy it next time I order through Columbia House, or something.

I'd be up for another one.

Meet the Fockers really fell flat for me. It had a couple of chuckles but considering the cast, I thought it should have been a little better. But De Niro and Hoffman aren't exactly reknowned for their comedic talent even though they've been trying to stretch their talents in that direction.

It can't be worse than the second one.

Another chance to use focker/fucker jokes, aren't people tired of these yet? Funny in the first film, but they killed it in the second film. I didn't find the second film funny at all, stale sex jokes involving Barbara Streisand and Dustin Hoffman, no thanks. I loved the first film, genuinely funny and witty scenes.

It's amazing how different the opinions are on this movie. I actually liked the first better than the second, which I can't tell from this thread if I'm in the minority or the majority. I'll check out a third on DVD, just like I did the first two.

I have no interest in seeing the Fokkers as parents, and even less interest in seeing another brat on screen in an annoying role.

I don't think the second one was as good as the original but it was still pretty funny for me. Not sure if it could be stretched out to a third one though. LOL, who knows, this one will probably make $300 mil.

Liked the first one.
Disliked the second one (The only saving Grace were Babs and Hoffman).
A third one.....Bad idea.
