I agree, and thus the reason why I will be staying far away from this one.

Seems like most people skip the movies in which she is naked... Actually, I guess they tend to skip Angelina Jolie movies in general.

Very true. For such a famous movie star, she really seems to be box office poison a lot of the time. It's actually kind of amusing considering how famous and talked about she is.

To each their own I suppose.

I'm looking forward to this movie. I'm not a big theater-goer anymore, so should I not see it there, I will definitely check out the (hopefully unrated) DVD when it is released.

I should start a rumor that Star Wars:Revenge of the Sith was originally given an R in that subforum and see what kind of shit hits the fan.

Judging by the trailer i thought this would be R.
Well at least The Wedding Crashers will be R, as well as The 40 year old virgin.
BTW - most of Brad Pitss movies are R rated (except Oceans 11/12, 7 years in tibet, meet joe black & sinbad)

I saw the film tonight, and the action is bloodless but brutal. And the sex has been tamed - seen on one cut that goes from Jolie in a bra to Jolie topless (nothing shown).

PG-13 is deh Satan.

I miss R rated action movies like RoboCop, if that came out today, do you think it'd be R?

Actually, I believe the original cut of Robocop was X. And ABSOLUTELY it would be R if it came out today. A dude falls in toxic waste and gets splattered!!

To those who are concerned that the PG-13 rating will serve to lessen the intensity of the action scenes, you need not worry. The action bits are pretty damn excellent in this movie. Bloodless and populated almost exclusively by faceless human drones in ski masks, but still quite entertaining. (Edit: Not entirely true. There are several 'contract characters' who get killed.)

To those who are disappointed that the PG-13 rating means no Angelina nakedness ... well, I'm right there with you on that one. Bring on the R-rated Director's Cut!

Great article about Doug Liman:

http://www.calendarlive.com/movies/c...ovies-features

Some choice quotes:

Liman disputes [Frank] Marshall's account, in the process taking a swipe at a disappointing film that Marshall directed: "At the end of the day, look at 'Congo' and look at my movies and let an audience figure out where that movie came from."

----
Several people who worked on the film say the action became hard to follow. Liman would shoot a wide master shot of a scene and then direct changes in the actors' performance when he shot close-ups. The result was footage that, according to Crowley, couldn't be cut together properly. "He felt that he was hamstrung by having to conform to basic rules of visual perception," Crowley says.

----
Pitt, who would not comment for this article, was said to have become exasperated with the drawn-out filming. According to one story making the rounds, when Liman at one point urged Pitt to deliver more emotion in his performance, the actor pointed out that Liman was shooting the back of his head. Liman says he doesn't remember that but adds, "I may have been wanting to get more emotion from the back of his head. I probably succeeded."

My biggest problem with seeing this film is already knowing whats going to happen, in general. It would appear that at some point (spoilered in case you have managed to ignore the plot revealing trailers)
Spoiler:
Pitt and Jolie end up going after another...and it would also appear at some point that they team together, probably to go after the person who set them up.

This is far too often the problem with MANY trailers...but that's a different thread/topic altogether. Surely it's been discussed a billion times before, and no, I'm not calling anyone Shirley.

I'll just wait for the R-rated/unrated cut on DVD.

R-rated content would hardly make this a better film. considering it's a mix of action and a romantic comedy, it'd just be weird if it had graphic and bloody violence mixed with the comedy of a dysfunctional married couple.
