Maybe if they had actually SHOWN some major balls to wall battles in KoH instead of teasing the audience the whole time it would have been better. I cannot help but think that almost every article about the film stating how much was cut and that it wasn't the "true" version hurt it a bit as well.

Again, any good prices for a decent widescreen TV and system?
A shame that R rated movies can't deliver anymore and that to see a blockbuster one must share the theater with a bunch of whiny teens. FWIW, I only wanted to see KoH for the epic look on the screen, but had I already owned a large screen TV, I might have skipped it myself. I intend to wait until I have on to view Sahara for the first time, as well as big actioneers like the new XXX and Stealth.

In short, I think it might be wise for studios to possibly wait about a year after the film's theatrical run to release the movie to DVD, unless it is something that might do boffo holiday sales like ROTS.

I really don't know enough about you're situation to recommend more than some general guildlines, but here goes. If you're looking for a big but nice picture, smaller is better. Getting something in the 40-48 inch range will not only save you a bit of money but it'll look better than the big stuff. You just need to move your couch a foot closer.

Also, rear projection is the basically the "cheap seats" right now. With LCD and Plasma(and DLP as well, but a DLP rear projection isn't inheirently better than an LCD rear projection, they just do different things) becoming the big buzz words, RPTVs seem to be plummiting. People don't seem as willing to pay 5k for tricked out and loaded to the gills RP when you can get a Plasma for that price.

But, when it comes to getting TVs I'm more of an amatuer, just thought I'd try and help. Some of these guys here know scary levels of info on this stuff, hopefully one of them sees your question.

Thanks! It will be a few weeks before I have the money, so I am hoping prices will continue to drop until I make it out.
