First i dont believe in the stats that they provide you for one! and if you really think thats true... then you got some issues!!

and im talking about that one scene ... thats a load of crap... if you have been shot at with an AK or fired an AK come talk to me i have!!

consider this .... AK47 mag 30bullets... you can off load 30 bullets in 6.3secs!

30 guys with AKs shooting at radom at a car meaning you dont really need that much luck before you hit one guy on top of a HMV !!!!
and he takes out half of em like nothing!!!

you really think thats possible???? i dont think sooooo maybe on playstation and xbox its possible!!!

Wait, you don't "believe in the stats" provided at the end of the film? Then you might want to brush up on your (relatively recent) history. The battle in Mogadishu saw 18 American soldiers killed, 78 wounded and over 1000 Somali casualties. Whether you "believe in" this or not is irrelevant...it's a matter of fact.

Edited to cite a Wikipedia link, which claims there were 19 American casualties, not 18. Close enough: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mogadishu

You really don't know what you are talking about. Firing an AK-47 at full auto is like dancing while you piss. You can pretty much make a mess out of everything around it, but you sure as hell aren't going to get it in the shitter. These are trained experience soliders. The highest ranked of them all against untrained foot men. The stats are correct.

As for the merrit of if it was a good film or not, that's a matter of personal opinion. But you can't deny that Josh being on the poster and being on top billing to draw the female audiance isn't a factor into explaining why or how he became a star.

I'm not sure how he made it big either. He's from Minneapolis and we went to high school at the same time (though he was in the next suburb over from me) and I have no idea how he made it big enough to get out to LA and succeed. I remember him doing some local commercials and stage performances while in high school, but that's about it.

This question should be asked about Orlando Bloom. Joshua Hartnett is Laurence Olivier reborn compared to Bloom.

Comedian Nick Swardson went to school with him, and did a great bit in his old stand-up on how bad an actor Hartnett was.

I would have liked blackhawk down if it was a fictional movie, but the fact that they made all the somalians look like just crazed devils made me hate it. Yes some people were radicals but there were others forced to shoot at our troops because their families were not going to get fed or killed if they didnt follow orders. the film makers could have at least tried to paint the other side somewhat sympathetically but they didnt.

Hard to paint a group of people who dragged a naked, dead marine through the streets while cheering, as sympathetic. We went with good intentions, which may be the problem. From now on, maybe we need to but out completely.

Since this is becoming political, and this is not the place for it, I'll shut up.

Pearl Harbor...great movie, i never understood why many didn't like this one.
40 Days & 40 Nights...fantastic comedy....i love, love, love this movie.
Black Hawk Down...awesome movie, enough said.
I have never seen Here On Earth, but i heard from several friends that it was good.
Wicker Park...haven't seen it yet, but i intend to some day.
Hollywood Homicide....umm, this one DID suck!
He's going to be in the upcoming Sin City...I almost can't wait for this one.
I've liked Josh Hartnett since I saw The Faculty. It's not like he's one of my favorite actors, but I do like him. I love 40 Days & 40 Nights. Wicker Park I really enjoyed more for the whole feel of the movie, not really his role in it. I didn't seen Pearl Harbor or Black Hawk Down, I don't like war movies. I saw Here on Earth once & found it kind of cheesy. Hollywood Homicide was horrible & this is coming from someone who adores Harrison Ford. I had no idea he was in Sin City. I definitely am going to see that though due to all of the really cool commercials.

I know tons of people don't like him though, especially guys. I was selling some movies at the flea market last summer & some woman came up & picked up 2 movies with Josh Hartnett in them. Her boyfriend was said "Oh no, not 2 Josh Hartnett movies". I saw Blow Dry. It was a strange cute little movie about hair stylists. I didn't really care for Virgin Suicides. All of the girls in it seemed really spoiled & he was like the token hot guy.

Well, I can at least see why women would find Orlando Bloom attractive. Although if we're going by acting ability, yes, he's by far one of the worst I've seen in a long time to achieve leading man status. About the only thing Bloom is good at is shooting CG arrows.

Please read up on your history. BHD is one of the most accurate-to-factual-detail war movies ever made.

Well, I've fired an AK, and I thought that one scene was perfectly believable, given the overall conditions and, you know, the fact that it actually happened. Again, I'd suggest you look into the historical facts behind the movie.

He was a Hollywood "it" boy, plucked from obscurity. He is in one or two movies that generated some buzz and all of a sudden everyone wants him in their mediocre films, resulting in quite a few films in a short amount of time.

Yes it is. But, there was one glaring problem!!! Eric Bana was wearing Oakley sunglasses that were from early 2000.
