Actor/Actress with no idle nominations (never lost)
There are two that come to mind - Hillary Swank and Kevin Spacey, two actors/actresses who, when nominated for an Oscar, have not walked away empty handed.
Do these two hold the record? I don't believe there are others who received Acting nominations and won them every time.
HILLARY SWANK
*1999 - Boys Don't Cry (Best Actress)
*2004 - Million Dollar Baby (Best Actress)
KEVIN SPACEY
*1995 - The Usual Suspects (Best Supporting Actor)
*1999 - American Beauty (Best Actor)

Helen Hayes won for her first nomination, but the second was Supporting Actress

From above, Sally Field, Vivien Leigh, Louise Rainer and Hilary Swank are the only 4 left to win 2 for 2 for Best Actress. Helen Hayes is 2 for 2 with one of each.
As for actors, Kevin Spacey is the only actor to go 2 for 2 for Best Actor.

It will be a hard road for Hillary Swank and Kevin Spacey (and Sally Field, for that matter, as she is not without redemption) if they should get another nomination. The pressure to keep their consectitive wins as opposed to walking away with just the nomination...yikes!

Can Swank or Spacey tie his record?
