I liked it. Decent, if unmemorable. Some really gut-bustingly funny moments... that I can't remember now that I'm home.
Also, it's paced and organized very oddly. The beginning feels so random and rushed, like a jumble of scenes stuck together; by the midpoint, it seems more traditionally told, but becomes very predictable. And takes forever to end.
Still... a very funny film. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and Kevin James plays the most lovable guy on screen I've seen recently.

Overall, pretty entertaining in the early going, with Kevin James (Alan) hamming it up quite nicely, and Will Smith (Hitch) having to rein him in and show him the ways of romancing the opposite sex. I didn't think Eva Mendes (Sarah) was a good foil for Will Smith, though. Amber Valletta was mainly the object of Alan's romantic heart, and provided an average performance (though as a supporting character, it was okay). And as with most romantic comedies, it's a roller coaster ride, but both sides learn a little about themselves in the process.
I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

I saw a sneak of this on thursday, and my wife and I REALLY enjoyed it... take your significant other, you'll love it. Will Smith was pretty good, and the king of queens guy ROCKED.

Sony has the #1 and #2 movies at the boxoffice right now, so it's a great start.

Devil talking about a sony flick? Ha! I put enough faith in that as I do when I talk about a 20th century fox flick.

I'll go with 2.5 stars. The movie had its funny moments but the cheeseball moments were pretty high, esp. the ending. Although the ending dancing montage was hilarious.

Let's see. An unhip fat white guy that can't get women and is a loser needs a hip blackman that knows all the moves and all right things to say to help change his life and get chicks. But then the hip player finds one chick that he can't get and hilarity enuses. Bleh, I think I'll pass.

Great movie to watch with your girl, nothing original, predictable but charming in it's own way.
Needed to see some of the chicks in their panties and that would have taken the film up a notch
