Wouldn't be the first time. The whole FvJvA was being spread around like this. It's all rumors and word of mouth. Early talks mean nothing and is business as usual. Without the help of the internet spreading this like a wild fire, it would have been school yard talk. With the internet around, it can fuel these flames and really make something out of nothing.
This wont happen and QT has really been tossed on so many projects lately it's not even funny. Considering how long it takes him to do one film, this wont be done, if ever till about 2010.

Quentin Tarantino to take on Jason?
Last Updated Wed, 09 Mar 2005 16:08:37 EST
LOS ANGELES - Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is in preliminary talks to write and direct the next instalment in the long-running Friday the 13th horror franchise.
Although Tarantino, the man behind such films as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, has made plenty of bloody movies, he has never directed a full-on horror picture.
Tarantino is meeting this week to flesh out his plans with executives at New Line Cinema, the studio that owns the property.

VHS? !! the person who was so certain that FvJvA was green lighted and set to go. Ha ha ha ha, nice to see you again.
This story was in the hollywood reporter aswell. The story about QT beginning talks about this is legit. But everything else at this point is rumors being blown out of the water because of the internet wild fires it has started. When HR reported this, they said will begin talks. Bloody digusting on the other hand was already sealing the deal.
Remember folks, talks mean shit till the ink drys and even then shit could go wrong.

Acutally, I think talk means shit until the film is actually in the theater. Even after the ink dries and cameras roll, you could have the movie go totally awry in post production and then totally re-worked (Cursed anyone?).
I wonder when the day will come that DVD talk will be seen as the original source of a rumor getting started for a major Hollywood production? Why doesn't someone here at least give it a try and give us some recognition!

If anything,I just posted what I found on BD or elsewhere.
All I am doing is reporting what I find.I have never said the word 'official' for any of this.

When it comes to Tarantino, I don't really consider any of his rumors worth a grain of salt until it's actually filming.
Of course, that's better then Terry Gilliam, who I won't believe a rumor about until the special edition release of the DVD.

from what i recall of the FvJvA thread/s was that certain people and or studios were interested. if "interested" is too strong of i word, sub, curious. mentions that it would be made were just hopeful speculation. it would seem at the very least one crushing blow was that rami didn't want it to happen. if he didn't care or won't veto it, who knows what would of happened. at any rate, i didn't care much for the idea and after reading the treatment, thank god it didn't.

ah indeed, my mistake, it was the wizard who was the leading spearhead of that movement.

That's exactly how everyone should read this. More than likely someone inside the know heard talks that QT is getting some interest or has an idea and would like to talk to new line and they ran with the story. Tossed it online and to the papers and it blew up like wild fire before QT even started talks with New Line. Considering how many projects he tosses himself on it's not worth thinking about till the project is already off the ground.

from Dark Horizons... Tarantino Denies "Jason" Rumours
For over a week now the talk has been swirling that New Line was meeting with Quentin Tarantino about doing the "Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie" and as a result his "Inglorious Bastards" has been put on hold. Today, Empire Online has word from the man himself which smashes all the gossip to bits.
"What's happening with Friday The 13th? Nothing at all! It's a complete lie. I like Jason and everything, but I've no intention of directing a movie! New Line talked to me about it, but it was a complete fabrication, that article. I would love to do a horror film. I'm just saying it's not going to be Friday The 13th..." said the "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill" director.
So is 'Inglorious' next then? "My next film is probably going to be Inglorious Bastards, yeah. I've written scenes. I've written a lot of it but now I have to sit down and start putting it together in a script that I can start shooting. And that's a different thing."

BAW HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA... How shocking. This is why Bloody Disgusting is far worse than AICN. Only the lay out is not as ugly.
