Good for Jamie Foxx
He deserved it, what a great movie and great performance. After the Academy snubbed Bill Murray last year, I was happy to see Jamie win it this time. Even in Ali, he was amazing.
Let's hope he doesn't go to crap now...

Dude, Booty Call was the shit. That crap was funny.
But he is starring in the upcoming movie Stealth, which looks to suck. I'm sure he'll do some quality stuff in the future though.

And to follow up this Oscar win with STEALTH? Ouch. Not since Michael Caine...

Personally, I was convinced of Jamie Foxx's talent after seeing
Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.

I'm sorry but I think Fox is so overrated I just want to vomit at all of the praise for this guy. I know it's not trendy right now & it's "PC" to be in love with this guy, but anyone, I mean ANYONE who was playing that role in Ray was going to win the Oscar, it's just the way the industy is nowadays.
Fox is a flavor of the month, if he is still getting praise 10 years from now then I take that back. Yeah, he was good in Ray, absolutely, but not the best performance of the year & Collateral was one of the most overrated performances I've ever seen, countless actors could have played that role.

I thought Foxx's speech was wonderful and I think he definitely deserved to win for best actor. I also wanted Cheadle to win because I feel he is so underrated and does not get the roles he deserves.

I don't particularly like characters that are real. Too much reference material on hand to tailor a performance around. It's basically doing an awesome imitation of the person. There's no originality in it. And that Ray Charles actually helped to coach Foxx, it just doesn't seem right that he won an Oscar. I don't doubt his perfomance by any means, but there wasn't anything original about it.

Some of you guys are on crack. This silly notion that "anybody playing Ray Charles would have won the Oscar" is just preposterous. He didn't imitate Ray Charles he was Ray Charles. There's a huge difference between the two.

Now if you could just clear up what the heck this has to do with what I posted previously, that would be great.
