Ha, that's probably the best idea. But the way I see it, if it sucks it sucks and I can forget about it, if it's decent we'll at least get some cool future war stuff. So, they might as well make it. At some point that company is gonna blow their wad on an overly expensive box office disaster anyway and go belly up again, so they might as well get a future war terminator in before they do.

Restart? This ain't Batman. Just take it back to formula and give us a kick ass Predator movie. We don't need Dutch's son...geesh...who came up with that idea. Another muscle bound special ops guy is fine, who cares who he's related to. Just give me the Rock and a good Predator movie I want a lean mean thriller, not a deep back story on the Predator and his familial effects on Dutch's extended family.

Hopefully, though, if the rumor proves true, McTiernan still has it in him to make a good action film. He was knocking em out of the park in the latter half of the 80s.

Because as crappy as his films are, they turn a profit. It's sad really.

It's really sad because I'm not even sure anything he did really made those films successful. He's had three hits and each one was based on a wildly popular franchse (or two). The two films he did that didn't have that preinstalled fan base, nothin, big bombs. In fact Soldier did flat out terrible at the box office. Ahh, why doesn't Hollywood notice that.

Well Hollywood hasn't paid attention to "House of the Dead" because that guy got to direct again

All i need to hear about a new Predator movie is three words

Rock vs Predator.

I'm there opening day if i hear that.

If they make another Predator movie about Dutch's son...it's not a "restart", it's a sequel...regardless of what McTiernan says.

I'm ready for HULK 2. I'm still holding out hope for Godzilla 2, even though the first one is terrible. If done by the right people, the sequel could be good.

Why not totally ruin the Predator franchise and start doing a bunch of crossovers with him into other areas like they did in comics? How about instead of Alien vs. Predator, we get Alias vs. Predator? That's right, have lil Sydney Bristow go toe to toe with the big guy; of course with what they've done with the Predator character they would probably team-up.

Not disagreeing with you, but to you, would 200's Shaft be a remake, a restart, or a sequel?

(braces for the inevitable "it's crap, is what it is" posts from people who think they're sooooo funny)

Don't know about Nutt, but I definitely see it as a sequel more than a re-make.

Ha, well that wouldn't surprise me. But in the end, there's no reason to have Dutch's son. It would just be a silly gimmick, and a meaningless tie-in. Granted, it wouldn't ruin a movie, but it wouldn't help it either.

Speaking of Die Hard 4...

Willis Plans Fall Die Hard 4.0 Shoot
Source: BBC
February 9, 2005

While doing the promo rounds for his new action thriller Hostage in London, Bruce Willis told the BBC that a fourth "Die Hard" movie is moving ahead.

"'Die Hard 4.0' is being written as we speak, and if all goes well we'll be shooting it in Autumn on the east coast of the United States."

As he previously said, he added that "John McClane has retired as a cop, and that's all that Fox have allowed me to tell you about it."

One thing though...lose the 4.0 already.

I'd prefer Weaver not be in another Alien picture. I pretty much can guarentee they're not going to do some "it was all a dream" scenario for another film. And the Ripley character has been throughly explored, and the one in part 4 is just not even really interesting. I'd love to see Scott revisit the series, but Weaver and Ripley, enough already.

If Ripley is a character, she should have a cameo and that's it.

I think that another Ripley centered alien movie would be unneeded. I actually thought she was hardly needed in Part 4.

Set a new one after the events of Part 3 and forget all that "24th century" crap given to us in Part 4. As it was, there was hardly anything in the 24th century that they didnt have in Ripley's time.

I figured this belongs in this thread, since it's just rumors.

But anyway, on the rumor front of T4, some guy I've never heard of is apparently trying to get the Terminator role, but more interest is the rumor that Kurt Wimmer of Equilbrium fame is being rumored to direct since Mostow will apparently be doing a Will Smith superhero movie or such.

Just rumors, but interesting.

Judgement Day for Terminator 4
Posted on Mon, 2-May-2005

He said he'll be back - but what he didn't say is when.

According to GlobalArnold.com, "Terminator 4" may have been delayed for a couple of years.
But that might be a good thing. Might Arnold Schwarzenegger then have time to return to his iconic role? It was previously reported that he wouldn't be - but now, there's a grain of hope.

An insider from the Andrew Vajna film studio, Intercom Pictures, tells the site that "T4" will most likely hit theatres in 2007 or 2008, and that it may still be a Schwarzenegger vehicle - but that's still to be confirmed.

The story is being worked on, but the film is nowhere near going into pre-production.

Looks like "T4" will be some of the original players though. Both Nick Stahl and Claire Danes also recently announced that they would not be returning for sequel three.

sucks. will he be doing more of the 'talk to the hand' jokes?
no Stahl=good thing but they should go ahead with the storyline as is and go into the future - a film with the future war against machines, with a 250M$+ budget and let the master, I meant James Cameron direct it
A story line just as was in the 94 terminator:future shock pc game would be an excelent fit for such movie. Maybe have Governator's cameo at films end as he walks through the time machine just minutes before skynet gets destroyed.
