What about the version of Excorcist:The Beginning that they shelved then decided to release once the Harlin version flopped?

I don't think it matters who they get to do Aliens vs. Predator II; the first one will be a case where a majority of the people who saw the movie and made it a hit didn't really care for it. (See Tomb Raider for a reference point).

I heard on the news that the Governator turned down a chance to appear in T4 because it is going to be shot in Hungary, not California.

Not anymore. They didn't want to film in Namibia after Gulf War II started.

He's too old anyway. I'd rather see the Rock to replace him.

I enjoy the hell out of the Rock, think if he plays his cards right could be a great action star, but, no, he shouldn't be in the Terminator. They could do something more creative than introducing another muscle bound robot. Plus, Rock's got charisma, he doesn't need to play robot.

Though, if they wanted to make a Predator 3, with The Rock, I'd be all for that. Set it in the middle east, have him be like Dutch leading a elite team out for terrorists or some shit, and Preddie comes in for the hunt. Well, obviously with a fleshed out story. Nonetheless, for Predator, I really wouldn't mind a back to basics approach. Terminator needs to take its story in new directions, but Predator honestly I wouldn't mind just going back to its formula, as long as you get someone decent behind the camera to direct the action.

Yup. I am still hoping for The Rock's *BIG* action movie. I liked what i saw of "Rundown" and "Scorpion King" but i really want him to find his own action movie and take off with it.

I like this. Hell, you could even set it slightly in the future (maybe 20 years)....maybe have the Predators return to Earth.

I've not seen AVP, but the whole "2004" & "Earth" thing kinda turned me off. I was quite happy with a gap between 1997 & the year 2125 (around there) timeline-wise with the movies. I really think that a "Predator" movie should have dealth with either thier arrival on earth or their past on earth (1715? to 1987) or really shown where they come from.

As for "Alien" movies...ignore 3+4 come up with something (sans Ripley) about the Alien homeworld or where the hell that ship from "Alien" & "Aliens" came from.

We don't need no big muscle bound Terminator's in T4. We need the future war! Enough with the time travel, T2 and T3 were basically just remakes of the original, what another remake? gawd no! They can't send anymore back, judgement day has happened, the shit has hit the fan. Show us some serious Future War shit!

^^ Agreed.

They tease us with the scenes of warfare in the future, why not make the next movie completely set. Then again tho, if they set it in the future, that would leave less idea's left for the next movie... then again do we really need a t5?

Amen to that! I was lead to believe that the only reason they made T-3 was to set up a future war movie for part 4.

I read somewhere they thought the war would make travel anywhere in that general area unsafe
but now that lucas is done filming there's no reason they couldn't film in Australia since one of their excuses for not filming there was that lucas was using all the studios for SW

Well, regardless of why they cancelled production, since they closed up shop on all the preproduction of the film, I fear it'll just never happen that'll they'll start up again. With Miller now working on his penguinj movie, and Mel backing in his post Passion success, I think Mad Max is buried for good. It's too bad...if Mel only made one more movie ever again, and it was Mad Max 4, I'd be a happy camper.

Die Hard 4 though, I believe will more than likely happen. If I recall, he agreed to do the film in trade for using the Tears of the Sun title for his other film, as it was a title owned by Fox that was, well, going to be the basis for Die Hard 4. Not sure how true that is, but Die Hard 4 seems likely at some point.

I've always assumed the the Governator would be in T4, but play the part of someone who the T800 was modeled after, not the cyberetic organism itself -- other than maybe in glimpses, but not as the major plot device. His age would be irrelevant that way. Perhaps a human who works with the machines, or one of Connor's lieutenants. T3 did reveal that an Arnie-bot is what ultimately kills John Connor, because he trusts it.

T4 should take it up to the war/the point where the first Arnie-bot is sent back, and essentially complete the circle. It could be, as you said, more of a war movie, as Aliens was to Alien. then if they chose to go beyond that, they could essentially re-invent the franchise with an open pallette.

There is an interview with Willis in the current issue of Maxim. It is happening.

Bruce sez the title of the movie is Die Hard 4.0 and the writer of Bruce's new movie, Hostage, is doing it. He also says that McClane is retired. Thats it.

I really hope they change that title. Makes me think it'll be about McClane playing a first person shooter for two hours since he's too old to actually pick up a gun.

Anyway, hopefully they don't try to deviate too much from what made Die Hard fun. I mean, I want to see McClane shooting his gun and blowing a lot of shit up. Bruce hasn't really done a film like that in a while.

I think having McClane be older would make them more prone to have him keep away from blowing shit up on his own.

He's older no doubt, but I think he could still pull off one more movie like that. Otherwise, what's the point of even doing a Die Hard movie. I love them, but I'm not going to pretend they were ever anything more than kick ass action movies.

I'll have to wait and see, but I do expect to see an action movie out of this. Bruce isn't that old that he couldn't pull off action star one more time.

For some updated Terminator 4 news:
http://film.guardian.co.uk/News_Stor...404899,00.html

Terminator contracts terminated

Arnold Schwarzenegger and the entire leading cast of Terminator 3 have been written out of the planned fourth film in the science fiction series.

With the state of California now in his care, perhaps it's not so surprising that the musclebound former action hero has not found the time to make a starring appearance in Terminator 4, but he had been scheduled to make at least a cameo. Schwarzenegger's two co-stars from the poorly received Terminator 3, Clare Danes and Nick Stahl, also appear to have been consigned to the Skynet refuse heap.

"None of the cast is coming back," Stahl, who played John Connor in the third film, told Sci-Fi Wire. "The story is changing conceptually. I believe it's a jump to the future, so my character will be quite a bit older. That's all that I know. So I'm not coming back, which is a drag."

The last film ended with the pair set to unite the survivors of Armageddon in a bid to destroy Skynet and ensure the survival of mankind, so it will be interesting to see how the screenwriters manage to handle the jump forward in time. Die-hard fans of James Cameron's original sci-fi noir and its bombastic 1991 sequel will be forgiven for having switched off the last blinking red light and gone home long ago.
