Actually, I've only seen the theatrical version and the ending to that one stunk, so I think you're safer going with the alternate version.

I watched the extended version last night having never seen the original theatrical cut. I'm not sure how much was added, but it wasn't much. I decided to see what the alternate ending was (or actually what the theatrical ending was) and it wasn't hugely different. I do think the extended version ending is better though.

I liked the theatrical version better.
The extended version is very poorly mastered too. The picture quality of the extra scenes isn't really up to the same standard as the rest of the film and it hasn't been mastered with seamless branching either.
I really liked the film. Reminded me of an X-File or something. Awesome

The alternate version is much better. In the alternate version you discover more about the motivations of the "bad guys" - who may not be so bad after all. The theatical version is too "Hollywood" - making the "bad guys" sterotypical movie bad guys. I'm guessing it was the result of a bad test screening and the studio felt they had to amp things up a bit.

Neither is any good.
Too much like a very cheap X-Files episode. The plot was very poorly done, and the "twist" as it was called is nothing of the sort. It's simply a revelation that anyone with half a brain could have figured out about seven minutes into the movie.

I just didn't really care for this movie. The ending was a weak explanation, no matter which version you watch. I'd say watch the theatrical, cause at least that has one nice special effects shot.
