I'm not sure if I'd consider them to be favourites, but some stand out 80s films for me would be The Terminator, Evil Dead, and Top Gun.

While there have been some great films thrown out so far, none compare in my mind to:

Rumble Fish

Also surprised not to see My Life as a Dog listed yet. It should be - but not by me, if I'm limited to just one. Rumble Fish is not only one of the greatest films of the 1980s, but also one ofthe most beautiful. It should be seen more often. Whaddya say, Mr. Coppola, want to revisit this one, throw in a little extra footage lying around in the lab and put it back in theatres for a second shot at success?
