This one really hit home for me, I loved it. I was happy to see that every loose end didn't tie itself up the way most movies do. That was what made this movie feel so true to life in my opinion. I highly recommend that everyone go see it. It's a guy's date movie.

I caught this yesterday and really enjoyed it. Good performances from the leads. Was realistic in that it didn't have the cheesy happy ending were everything works out for everyone perfectly. I'd give it a 3.5/5.

I saw this. It was nothing special but a good romantic comedy.

Grace & Quaid were both very good in it.

I went to NYU so it was good seeing everything like the Hayden Dorm, etc. Brings back memories. Then again, I live like 3 blocks from Hayden dorm so I see that thing almost every day on the way to the subway.

2.5 stars out of 4

Went and saw a matinee yesterday with the wife. Great flick.

Loved the part where Dan (Quaid) went for the slam dunk during the game with the VPs.

I'd give it out of

That (dunk attempt) looked painful.

You ain't kidding.

Oh, one detail I left out...

My wife and I went to see the matinee at the Santikos Embassy Theaters (Bitters and 281), and we saw the 4:55 show... anyways, there were about 150 people at the show and only a dozen of us (by rough estimate) were under 65. I felt quite young.

Makes me wonder what the demographic for the movie really was.

I'm with you on that. I went to a 4:40 showing of the movie (in Boardman, OH) and out of about fifty people, I was the only one in the theater under the age of (roughly) 50.

Pretty damn good flick. ***1/2 out of *****.

Good cast. Topher is making a wise career move leaving That 70s Show. And once again I learned why I love Scarlett Johansson.

The crowd at my theater was definitely skewed towards those patrons that can use the senior citizen rate - hell, the wife and I brought my grandpa along.

Great movie although the pacing seemed a bit slow. I did really like the soundtrack however and I'll probably pick it up when it comes out if it hasn't already.

They didn't really develop the female characters that much but I guess that's ok since the movie is about the two males.

A lot of people complained about
Spoiler:
how the ending was not hollywood enuf but I thought that it was still a nice realistic ending.

My grandpa said that they ended it too early, but I liked that it wasn't the conventional Hollywood ending.

Since the DVD came out today (oh yes I bought it), here is a quick bump for what is in my opinion, the best overall film released in 2005 so far. Yes I know it came out the last friday of 2004, but whatever.

I'll be picking this one up as well. Loved the chemistry between Quaid and Grace.
Spoiler:
I also identified with the employee uncertainity that comes with corporate restructuring. I thought Clark Gregg's performance as the "corporate asskisser" was dead-on (every company has one). Finally, loved Teddy K's (McDowell) responses to Quaid's questions during the Globecom meeting. (typical corporate big wig responses)

..Thought David Paymer (Morty) stole the show.

I have to say that while I did find this film entertaining, every sales/business aspect was completely laughable.

Spoiler:

-Topher Grace's character attempting to create a cell-phone market for 5-year-olds? WTF, that goes against every marketing law there is.

-The sneaker promotion pitch by the oriental character to Dan's client? Real savvy. I've met clients that would have slugged that kid for that crap.

-Dan flying to L.A. and not even attempting to pitch his client to buy ad space? It'd be nice if that was how business was done, but lets get realistic here. I've been in sales for a while now, and I know that an ad sales manager with a style like that would last less than a day.

I liked the performances (Quaid & Scarlett were great, wasn't as high on Grace as many here, but he was ok) but I didn't find the film to be too believable in many respects.

Re: In Good Company

A couple months short of making a 20 year bump, but I watched this tonight on Universal Movies. It's really good for a low energy watch.

"Lost in Translation" era ScarJo had a "sexy tomboy who does know how sexy she is"- thing going on here.
