BTW,I loved the 1st one,and now as said love the 2nd one,but why do people keep saying "If You Like It,Burn In Hell"? Perfect example is CHUD.com 's Special Edition column on upcoming releases. It basically says if you like Dodgeball and/or Anchorman you're cool,if you like Meet The Fockers "DIE! & Burn in Hell"

Suspended; also need updated email
Was mildly amusing throughout but never really hit and true high notes.
Just overall everyone including the scriptwriters just underperformed a bit
Dustin Hoffman was the best though

I saw this movie last night and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. After some of the reviews I wasn't expecting a whole lot. And I was pleasantly surprised that Streisand didn't annoy the hell out of me. I got a kick out of the reference to Ronin.

Saw it. In short, funny, but I could have waited until video. Streisand,DeNiro, and Hoffman made this movie what it was, and I loved the brief part of Tim Blake Nelson as the policeman. (It was like watching Delbert all over!)
I give it a B-. Good way to kill time and get some laughs, but nothing special.

if you liked the first one, this is worth seeing. at a matinee price. i thought overall, it was deceent, but not amazing.
what was up with the weird scene of stiller calling his parents, with the car and motorhome in the background? looked like he was in front of a green screen. Just seemed weird.

Saw yesterday with my fiance and we couldnt believed how much we enjoyed it! It was incredibly funny and i think Dustin Hoffman stole the show, he was hilarious! It was a great film, i think far better than the first.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I saw this over the weekend. I loved it. I'd say 3 out of 4 stars. Better than the first. Stiller almost has a supporting role. The first 20 minutes are drab, you can see the jokes coming from a mile away. Once it kicks in though it is great.
Personally DeNiro, Hoffman & Streisand made the movie. It was amazing watching them play off each other. Pros. I know most on here are from a younger generation, but Streisand can be great when you ignore the prima donna crap. I thought she was excellent and a perfect fit for the role.

I really liked this one and thought it was on par with the first. Stiller has been hit or miss lately and I think this was a hit. The addition of Gaylord's parents (Hoffman and Streisand) added a lot of fresh life into this movie.

Just watched it - it was a humorless piece of crap. Much like how I felt about Sideways. Between dogs going down toilets, cgi baby head-butts and gratuitous coo'ing baby face close-ups (which were annoying enough in Willow, but they never learn), they really had nowhere to go with this. The entire movie centered around the fact that their last name was 'focker'. It was the least funny 'joke' from the first film and they make a movie out of that one joke. The rest of it was just poorly written rehashes of the same stupid gags from the first film. The characters from the first film were already resolved, but no - let's stir things up a bit again so we can resolve them again.
When I first saw MTP in the theater - I liked it... I laughed alot and had a good time. I bought the DVD even... when I watched the DVD, I didn't like it... it just wasn't funny. All the jokes were just a one-time use only. I wasn't looking to see MTF at all, but the roommate brought it home and asked if I'd watch it with him. He thought it was crappy too, but he also hated the first one. I asked him why he bothered borrowing it from his friend and he said it was because everyone kept saying how hilarious it was and because it did well at the box office.
I watched some of my DVDs that I know are funny to check and make sure that my laugh is not broken - and it's not... works just fine. Corvin - usually we agree, but sometimes we don't and it's on the weirdest stuff too. You said the first 20 minutes you could see the jokes from a mile away - I say, that sums up the entire film for me. Every punch line in the entire film was set up like a classic(ly bad) bit. I thought Streisand was allright in this... I'm not a fan and I can't stand her as a person, but she can turn out a good performance now and then. Hoffman was a little over the top. DeNiro is a stiff, dull, humorless dummy. I give props for some of his older films, but he just isn't the magic in a bottle that everyone thinks he is.
I used to love Ben Stiller, but every fucking movie he is in has a fucking toilet in it - and the toilet either clogs or overflows or blows up or he zips up his balls or has diahrea or whatever. Stop reading scripts that have toilets in em, douchebag. He plays the same stupid goof character that can't stand up to people and gets confident when he's alone. Everything he does fucks up something and he has to apologize or feel uncomfortable about it. Bleh. Lame.

Ain't that the truth. I have to agree about the dog and the baby. I saw those jokes in the trailer so I already knew how bad they were going in, so I just
when they appeared in the movie. As for Stiller, he was relegated to a minor roll, so he didn't bother me. For me, it was the veteran actors that made the film.
