Hoffman was great as the Focker father. Streisand was good in her limited screen time.

I thought it was hysterical. The baby was a hoot ... those who have seen it know what I mean!
I'm not a fan of Streisand, but I thought she did well here. The whole cast was good, and funny. I'd recommend it.

I just saw it and I thought it was very funny! My gauge for good comedy flicks is when I come out of the theater in a great upbeat mood and I felt that way when I saw this movie. I loved everyone in the cast and although normally I can't stand Babs, I have to give it to her....she was very good in the role.
Let me also say that Alanna Ubach who played "Isabel" was awesome as usual! Anyone who's heard her when she's a guest on LOVELINE knows she's naturally funny as hell and she's a fantastic Voice Actress. I'm glad she was cast in the role but I also wish she had a few more scenes.

I loved it. Saw it in a packed theater and the whole everyone was laughing hysterically. A lot of the comedy stems from embarrassing moments resulting from mom's occupation as a sex therapist, so if sex comedy doesn't amuse you you probably won't enjoy it. Not a world class film, not anyone's greatest performance, just very funny and fun to watch.

After reading alot here I was prepared for the worst but wound up seeing a very good movie....I come close to saying I loved it. I can't say enough good things about Hoffman and Streisand here- they were lovable and charismatic in their roles and it made me wish they had done something together earlier in their careers. DeNiro and Stiller were both still good but perhaps a bit less so, with less camera time this time around. Blythe Danner came across as much more likeable as well. On the whole a bit more bawdy to my suprise, and actually, it worked. Not a bad script, somewhat predictable but with some great laughs.......I sat with an almost full theater and you could tell they loved it as well. It was good to see Greg have some allies this time around whenever Jack would get out of hand. Hoffman ripping into DeNiro for chastising and insulting his son was quite a departure from what we saw the first time around, and both believable and heartwarming......I really think Hoffman stole the movie. The post Chrismas holiday season and the inclement weather may very well give this movie a boost- it's a funny movie that I think will find an audience. Could they have done more with the characters? Probably, but there are VERY few movies you see that you won't say the same thing about. They had only so much time and alot of star power on the screen, and this was after all a showcase for Greg's parents this time around, and they certainly shined. Worth seeing on the big screen and worth buying when it comes to DVD.

Overall, I thought the movie was quite good, and I had pretty high hopes going in. I really loved that Deniro didn't wimp out in the Jack Byrnes character. He was still as menacing as ever.
I have noted a slight plot hole though

Okay, guess I missed that line. I'm happy to report that MTF is doing very well at the box office. I guess at this time of year, a lot of people related to having to meet and get along with weird-o strangers / relatives-to-be. I hope that seals the prospect of yet another Focker sequel. Perhaps, next time we'll be treated to seeing more Fockers enter this world.

I saw it this weekend and thought it was an absolute disaster. After loving the first movie, I only had a few laughs during this film.
From the beginning when Barbara Streisand was shown to be a sex therapist for old people, I could tell I would probably not enjoy the direction they took with the movie. It just seems cheap and cliche to me, having old people spouting sexual innuendos for laughs. Half of the humor of the film revolved around sex, especially between Barbara Streisand and Dustin Hoffman, neither of whom I find very funny. Dustin Hoffman is just too over the top, and I think he tries to hard sometimes, as for example the opening scene with him where he is practicing the Brazilian dance fighting. I really wish they had made Ben Stiller's family more dysfunctional in other ways besides an open sex life, also having more involvement from other Fockers might have bee good.
Also did you know Focker sounds like a commonly known curse word, well this movie will remind you over and over again. The joke was tired going in for me, since it was already used in the first movie numerous times.
One scene that really got to me, I guess just for the implausibility is the
