DAAAAMN! I must say they nailed the atmosphere of the games, but I dont wanna get too excited until I see the movie. Looking REALLY good so far. Silent Hill has one of the most complex story lines in survival horror, I wonder how much of it they can cram into this movie, and how much they will leave out in order to tell a single story.

i think if they cleaned up the effects juuuuuust a bit (looks a tad plastic-y on some shots), then we may actually get a decent videogame-to-movie movie. the atmosphere is great!

Yow! If the whole movied nailed the game the way that the trailer seems to indicate, we may have found the holy grail of contemporary horror flicks. Not to mention the way-too-elusive achievement of an actually superb game-to-movie translation.

Man, I hope this movie is as great as it's shaping up to be. If nothing else, the filmmakers appear to at least have a good understanding and appreciation of the source material (unlike the folks who adapted RE and Tomb Raider).

Just a few things I noticed while watching the trailer (with a little help from IMDb):

- The first article, entitled "Silent Hill: The Tainted Town" is written by Andy Millburn. Andy Millburn is the name of one of two guys that did the music for Roger Avary's Killing Zoe, Mr. Stitch, and Rulles of Attraction.

- The second article, entitled "Silent Hill Evacuation" is written by a "n Rutter". All of the first name is obscured except for the last letter "n". A Sharon Rutter did the editting of Rules of Attraction.

saw the trailer today, I really like the way the creatures are turning out. I was surprised too to see a Pyramid Head pop in the trailer

Here are the five finalists in the poster contest:

NOT impressed with any of them, the second one with red writing is absurd, hard to believe it's a finalist...3rd & 4th ones are okay, but that's not saying much. I hate it when they let fans design posters.

Nice trailer, looks like a good adaptation of the game. Don't think it has much mainstream appeal though, because to be honest, of all the movies this reminds me of (trailer-wise), House of Wax.

Game fans should be pleased though

The 1st and 3rd poster are alright, the others kinda suck.

Yeah, none of those posters are very impressive. The 3rd one is the best; the 4th one would have been okay but the "We've been expecting you" is a little much. Disappointing because I'd like to have a cool Silent Hill movie poster for my room.

Molotov - thanks for the larger version of the trailer (and amazingly, it played perfectly on my slow, pos, outdated computer...hmmmmmm). I'm really getting pumped up for this flick.

I've only played the first two games, but I absolutely loved them (and they freaked me out!). This movie looks like it has some potential.

According to IMDb, it's coming out on my birthday, so I guess I know what I'll be doing this year.

Poster #4 is great.

I saw this in the previews for Underworld 2 this weekend, and WOW I was blown away, it seemed JUST like Silent Hill 2.
