Worst weekend ever for new movies?

Worst weekend ever for new movies?
What is the worst weekend you recall with the worst movies ever opening? I think this coming weekend is the worst with Benji Shags Some Bitches (or whatever it's called) and Baby Geniuses 2. What's with the kid's movies now that the brats are going back to school? I don't recall the last time there was a weekend where there wasn't something at least remotely interesting opening. There were a couple other titles I noticed, but nothing that was half way decent.

DVD Talk Hero
Benji opened last weekend (and actually opened here about 6 months ago) so that doesn't really count.
Hero is opening, about damn time. Still has a 97% (~ 60 reviews) on rt too... Anyone care to fill me in on why it was shelved for 2 years?
Anacondas and Suspect Zero look pretty bad. Superbabies is primed to be one of the worst "comedies" ever.
But worst weekend ever? Naw, just give it to the entire month.
Collateral and Hero can't make up for Exorcist, Superbabies, and whatever else.

Benji came out last week. So this week you've got Hero, Suspect Zero, Anaconda 2, or Baby Geniuses 2. Not the greatest lineup, but I wouldn't say it was the worst weekend for movies ever. I think last week was worst than this week, with Excorist: Beginnings, Without a Paddle, and Benji off the Leash opening.

"You can finally see Hero on the big screen like it was meant"
You mean with teenage kids laughing and throwing stuff at the screen. Crying babies. Price Gouging. Blurred picture. Poorly balanced and echoing sound.
I Absolutely hate theaters. (I am sure I am in a minority here)
Upscaled DVD to HD TV + Home Theater is the way to see it ;-P
If the screen isn't big enough, move your couch closer.

Man I hate that theater...but back in the day the college id discount made a matinee $3.75 and I just couldn't resist.
To get back to the thread, the wife and I are gonna see Suspect Zero tonight. I know it has a horrible RT rating, but I still want to see it.

DVD Talk Godfather
I'm going to see Braveheart in a few hours. A local theater (actual theater, not movie theater) has been running a summer classic series. They do it every year, but in the past they stuck to stuff like Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music and the like. This year they jumped about 20 years and ran Jaws, Indy, Jurassic Park, ET, Gladiator, Braveheart, Forest Gump, Back to the Future and a few others.
$5 a ticket. Can't beat that.

I owned the "Hero" DVD for a year now. I love the movie so much that I will watch it again tomorrow at the Senator Theater. I have very good experience in that theater since the audiences are usually more mature.

9/7/01
The Musketeer
Two Can Play That Game
Rock Star
Soul Survivors
9/14
Hardball
The Glass House
9/21 This may qualify for that worst weekend tag as well
Glitter
9/28
Don't Say a Word
Zoolander
Hearts in Atlantis
Now, Zoolander I actually liked, but not everyone does. Hardball was okay, I guess, but nothing special. Everything else either qualifies as somewhat entertaining crap or just plain horrible. There are at least 2 movies I couldn't finish in there, as well as 3 I finished but absolutely hated.
