Rivero, you were never going to buy the discs anyway. Stop acting like you even care about what Lucas does anymore. He raped your childhood years ago, there should be no such thing as a last straw.

Yes I was. It's the original, ORIGINAL trilogy I still love. The prequels I loathe and don't own. And now Hayden F****n' Christensen closes the entire series. Jesus Christ.

Pants was banned? and that would be the correct thing since it's proof that the change is there.

This is posted on Star Wars.com:

The Sith are masters of the dark side of the Force and the sworn enemies of the Jedi. They were all but exterminated by the Jedi a thousand years ago, but the evil order continued in secrecy. They operated quietly, behind the scenes, acting in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they could take over the galaxy. In Episode III, they'll finally exact their revenge on the Jedi.

Makes sense to me.

He said some inflammatory things in a baby/movie theater thread and was banned by Geoff himself.

And in Episode One, Maul talks with Sidious about how they'll at last get their revenge.

How am I being disrespectful for expressing my opinion?
Because you're basically trolling. That's the way I see it. If you express your opinion in a useful and respectful manner, okay. But the constant smartass remarks and the thread dumps are useless. When you come into a thread just to make a smartass remark, that's not expressing an opinion. It's trolling.

And I have every right to let others on this board know exactly how I feel.
Sure you do! But how many frickin' times do you and others need to let us know about how much you hate the Lucas and the prequels.

If you want to hear nothing but praise for the prequels and GL, go to the www.theforce.net . Otherwise, you can't blame anyone on this board who had a different opinion than you.
Repeat yourself much?

Five bucks says you do.
10 bucks says who cares? I'll be enjoying them come September, and that's all that matters.

If he did then he would have cast a young actor as Anakin in the spirit shot back in '83.
Then you'd be complaining that the young actor in ESB doesn't look like Hayden.

That's a compressed divx screencap, and it still look amazing.
I must say this is truly amazing comparison. I personally think that these DVDs will definitely set a new benchmark for the future of film restoration. Job well done

Now I'm not going to pretend the following scene doesn't bother me...cause it does. Newsflash: There's no point in bitching about it because:

A. God, George Lucas, Lucasfilm, Fox, ILM probably do not give a shit about our opinion! Plain and simple.

B. The average person will buy anything StarWars. Plain and simple.

C. Petitions, message board rants, phone calls, letters, protests, and acts of God are pretty much insignificant to the power of George Lucas.

I personally think this was all McCallum's idea

I'm not all that enthralled with it either. But for me, it doesn't ruin the entire films.

Of course not....that's why we have the choice to chapter skip or fast forward.

Thank goodness you're not a mod! All these threadcraps and trolling I am guilty of would undoubtedly get me suspended or worse!

That was cute the way you used my phrase there. I repeated it because you obviously are still complaining about people who disagree with you. If you're the type of person who has temper tantrums whenever a person disagrees with you, you are doomed to live quite a frustrating life. I think you would be happier posting on a site where everyone shares your opinions and you can all gush about how great George's new cut of the OT is, without the threat of any kind of dissent. If you're unhappy here, why not do the rest of us a favor and either quit complaining about people who don't share your views, or leave the forum and go post somewhere else?

kthxbye

What I have yet to hear about is if Hayden was replaced when Vader is unmasked as well for consistancy, does anyone know? Personally, I've been in favor of this change long before rumors of it actually happening though under the condition that the original version be preserved. I just saw the clip and it looks as though Anakin has a smug look on his face that doesn't seem appropriate for the scene or maybe it's just distortion from the small, low quality clip I viewed.

Vader unmasked is still the same actor, only thing to it is that they digitally fixed up the face. made the eyebrows go away and man, that difference alone makes it worlds different.

Holy Shit!!!! The colors!!!!

Hell... I can't even see Shaw's likeness in the newer shot.

I hoped they fixed that annoying blotch on the Emperor's ear.

Thanks Jack.

I was putting it nicely. He said some really foul stuff, stuff I can't really repeat here. We're not supposed to talk about banned members though. It's the 2nd rule of dvdtalk Fight Club.l

In his defense--which I know he didn't ask me for, but I give it freely anyway cuz I got a lot of love today from seeing these screen caps and DVD Menu screens--it's not about disagreeing with him about everything. It's the constant luca$/prequel bashing in any and all Star Wars threads. Start a Star Wars thread. Any benign Star Wars thread(I say "benign" because obviously a "Star Wars and Luca$ sucks" thread is an exception) and within 20 posts or less, it pretty much degenerates into how childhoods were raped and whatnot. Frankly, it really does get tiring. Take this thread for example. What's it supposed to be about? The official release of Ep3's title and screen shots of the upcoming DVDs. Instead of focusing on the fact that Star Wars is finally coming to DVD and how freakin' great the video is looking, we're all back to the same old same old shit. I think everyone's heard it all before. Seriously, how many times does one have to give all the reasons why the prequels or luca$ sucks? Heck, just ask Rivero to e-mail you his zip file of Archived Reasons Why I Hate George Lucas and be done with it. No one's ever gonna win the other side anyway. People tell us to "get over it" because there ARE people that disagree with us. Well I say "get over it" back because no amount of bitching on an Internet Messageboard is going to make a difference to that which they're bitching about so why not just enjoy what we have?

(after seeing the Hayden spirit scene with Yoda and Ben as well as the other ROTJ screenshots)

Question : Why bother keeping the puppet Yoda then? Or even puppet Jabba? I thought he was making these changes for consistency? Newer technology and all that jazz?
