And now for the Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions bashing portion of my response. Read at your own risk.
It reminded me of that Matrix in that sense. The original Matrix provided an excellent mix of action and story, with some real thought provocation. Then as the series went on, imo, it became lets see how much shit we can blow up, instead of working on the original questions of the first flm. I, Robot did the same for me. In the middle third, I thought it was beginning to pose a very interesting dilemma for the robots, but in the last act, I thought it was balls to the wall action with shit blowing up. Someone else in this thread also stated something like this.
On another note, Bridget was as stiff as a 2x4 for most of the movie. I just didn't give a shit about her character, except the fact that she was hot.
If it was mean to be a summer action blockbuster, then it did a good job, with excellent cgi and some great one liners
Spoiler:
If it was trying to be explore the question of the three laws of robotics and how it lead to this great moral dilemma and so forth, then it flopped big time imo.
Was anyone else thinking about the Abyss when

just watched it last night
it felt like watching "Blade Runner" + "A.I." with Will Smith in it...
for summer big budget movie, yes it lack some extravaganza action scenes... too CGI oriented rather than good old fashion blow-the-shiet-out-stuff for the fun of it
it's an ok movie... it's more like action/thriller/detective kind of movie....
it's an ok movie... nothing more. it'd say 6.5/10
yes, Bad Boys 2 is better interm of blow things up (= fun)

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
I just saw this last night and thought that it was a pretty good summer flick. It had some humorous one-liners, "I'm allergic to bulls**t," etc. It had 2 good action scenes (tunnel scene and ending scene) and some thought-provoking questions. I give it 3 stars out of 4 and will definitely get it on DVD.
The only problem I had with it were the Spanish and black girl behind me with their commentary throughout the movie.
1) When Will Smith wakes up shirtless and takes the shower. First they clap and shout and then go "Oooooh, look at my baby, he's so hot."
2) When they show him waking up without his shirt again, "Ooooooh, keep showin' that scene again. He's soooooo hot!"
3) When Will Smith makes a one-liner, "My baby is soooo funny."
4) When they enter USR at the end, "Oh no, he didn't do it. Don't tell me it's that white b*tch that did it. Watch out baby (Will Smith), that white b*tch is gonna hurt you."
Now this went out throughout the movie, and at times it was pretty funny but after a while I wanted to b*tch slap both of them.

Caught it this afternoon and I liked it a lot.
Good summer action flick, good special effects and a slightly deeper plot that a lot of popcorn flicks these days. I'll probably pick up the DVD.

Saw it tonight and thought it was fun. Not an Academy Award contender (at least, not for any non-technical awards), but it was a good popcorn flick. And though it's been close to 20 years since I really read Asimov, I thought it was not inconsistent with his views on robots and the 3 laws.
Favorite line (which I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned): "Are you saying cats did this to you?"

I went to see this movie last night. Awesome flick! It ranks almost as high as Spiderman 2.
My favorite line which I believe will be uttered for years to come is when Will said, "Aachooo.. sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit!"

Enjoyable if not exceptional. A decent little B-movie, I just expected more from the director of Dark City, I guess. Still, I'd watch it a billion times before, say, Turd Robelli.
Incidentally, the weakest part of the film were the "Will Smith"-isms. I think he's an underrated actor, but his snappy one-liners and glibness, while toned down, still came off forced and stiff.
And
I'd give it **1/2 out of ****, or dinner for two at the Sizzler.

Other than that, I enjoyed it.

I found myself doubting Chicago would look like that in 30 years, but then I asked myself how many people thought Chicago would look like it does today 30 years ago? So for me, it wasn't really much of a problem in the end.
Oh, and I thought the movie was really good. I went in not expecting much because I am not much of a sci-fi fan, don't care much for Will Smith and actually detest Asminov, but a friend recommended it and I had missed the starting time for The Bourne Supremacy, so I gave it a try. In the end I was glad that I did.

Liked it. - It looked great, with not many flaws. I'd see it again.
The robots looked well done. I wonder if they built any life-sized models or is it all CGI.

Finally caught up with this one - and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe all the negative vibes around here lowered my expectations, but I went along for the ride and left the theater satisfied. Great movie? No, but definitely better than most of the big-budget bombs that have been showing up.

Great flim. Of course it was a typical summer/Wil Smith blockbuster, but for what it was, I really enjoyed it. I thought the special effects were top notch and the action was fast paced and well done.

I, ROBOT reviews
If I were to design a homecare robot, it would look like the ones in I ROBOT. But the face would be a nice sky blue colour with a water ripple effect, giving that calm peaceful feeling every time you stare at it. If you are single and want to enjoy romance with a new lover, then this beautiful homcare robot can teach you how without the danger of human sexual diseases such as AIDS.
I ROBOT is a first movie to a trilogy of movies like TERMINATOR, I guess.
