Marlon Brando dead???

A station in Phoenix is saying on their website that Marlon Brando has died: http://www.kpho.com/Global/story.asp...3&nav=23KtOOSA

Now, since none of the major sources are reporting this, it seems to be a hack or a mistake. However, the following was posted on the newsgroup alt.obituaries:

...it's no hack. I just called the news department at KPHO-TV in Phoenix and they claim a source close to Brando tipped off a reporter there, and the major news organisations are holding off of the story until Brando's family makes a statement...
We'll see.

caiman 07-02-04 07:53 AM

I heard this on another forum a little while ago (same news source).

Hope it's not true.

Big Quasimodo 07-02-04 07:57 AM

While I too hope it is not true, it sure as hell wouldn't be surprising....

Groucho 07-02-04 08:06 AM

First Pauly Shore, next Marlon Brando? Who will complete the triumvirate of Great Dead Actors this week?

warcp 07-02-04 08:33 AM

Yup confirmed. I think...

davejt1 07-02-04 08:44 AM

The only story that I had heard about him yesterday was that he was bankrupt and living in some small one room apartment or something. They said that he hid his two Oscars so the creditors couldn't find them. Hmmmm. Weird.

Well, I can't argue with sound logic like that!

Pillowhead 07-02-04 09:00 AM

Here's the link to the "story" on KPHO. I haven't seen it on CNN or MSN

Spanky BananaPants 07-02-04 09:25 AM

I'll believe it when the New York Times says it's so.

Brain Stew 07-02-04 09:45 AM

Yep, no credible reports.

Parcher 07-02-04 09:57 AM

What the hell....

you all mourn him like it's absolutely sure he's dead, despite only ONE news source reporting so.

But they're using the same source that we've seen already.

A great actor... he will be missed... now to go spin On The Waterfront, The Godfather and Apocalypse Now.

MATT

Wooderson 07-02-04 10:38 AM

Is he the third of the three? Reagan, Charles and Brando

Since when was Pauly Shore considered a "Great Actor"?

Even though it had to happen, still a shame. A great actor, even if he never quite lived up to his potential in later years.
