Anyone seen the movie "Clue?"

I saw it in the theater. I can't remember which ending I saw.
I always watched it when it was on tv and of course I have the DVD.
Its a fun little movie and quite enjoyable.
It was a lot of fun seeing it in the theater, because you never knew which ending you would see. I guess the theater never changed, but if you went to a different theater, you'd get a different ending most likely. I don't think they rotated endings in the same theater, but I might be wrong.

We had one theatre that showed ending "A" one week, next week was ending "B" and then finally ending "C" the week after. Another theatre devoted three screens to it with each ending getting its own screen. On that one, one weekend the theatre schedule the times just right (I think 15-20 mins apart) where you could see ending "A", leave when the credits ended, sneak into the screen next door where ending "B" was, see that and then sneak into screen with ending "C" to finish off your "Clue-ending-a-thon". Finally, another theatre showed all three endings back to back to back but instead of just putting endings "B" and "C" after "A" like when the movies hit the cable networks like HBO, the theatre showed the whole movies back to back to back. So if you went, you were there for at least 5hrs!
I remember seeing ending "A" in the theatres first-perhaps on opening weekend. Then a few weeks later, endings "B" and "C" were out so I went to see ending "B" and at the same time "C" was playing next door with a start time of 10 mins later, so we snuck into that screen and saw it. (Hey I already devoted over three hrs to the movie so I think I had the right to do what I did! I'm sure I wasn't the only one! LOL! LOL! LOL!)

A pretty good read on the story of Clue:

Great article. Thank you. The only bad thing I can say is that I didn't know about Tim Curry's stroke until reading it here. That's sad. Love that guy.

I found this in the 5 dollar bin a couple of months ago. I always watch it with the random ending choice. So far, I've seen 2 of the 3 endings. A really fun movie.

Just read that article and was going to post it here. Always loved the movie. Saw it in theaters when it was first released. I got Ending B.

I have loved this movie from the first time I saw it. One of my all-time favorites.

A favorite of mine since I first saw it on cable in March of 87... seen it roughly 8 zillion times since. Never tire of it. Just brilliantly entertaining. And very, very silly. Groin, and

It's one of the few movies I will watch if it pops up on TV even though I own it. How can you not enjoy it?

Great article! I remember seeing it in theaters twice and watching endings A and C. I was pissed that ending B was in another theater an hour away. I agree with the article that gimmick was more of a frustration than a benefit to theater goers back then.

Interesting article! Long, but very interesting ...
I remember the "Clue controversy" when it was in theaters, but didn't realize it had tanked. Admittedly I grew up with the video version and instantly fell in love with it.
It is one of the few "non-family family" films out there. Although the topics are very mature, there is no real "R-rated" material. As the author of the article pointed out, this hooks in young teeange audiences.
They really should make more movies based on board games. <wink>
